"I have a surprise for you." Was all Tommy told me this morning during first period. When I had asked what he had meant by it, he simply brushed me off and told me I would see when we stopped by his house tonight.

Halloween was approaching this weekend, which meant that a lot of planning was going on between me, Tommy, and Tubbo, who would be arriving tonight. We agreed to be Creepypastas this year, since it was easy to recognize and we wanted to scare the kids in our neighborhood.

Of course, I was already excited for this, but the added surprise only made me even more impatient. My foot twitched rapidly under the desk as the teacher ended today's lesson, leaving us all to talk to one another before the bell rang.

"You look nervous. Are you okay?" Ah, my lord and saviour, Jacob, has come from the heavens to check in on me. I smiled up at him, though it probably came out more anxious than reassuring.

"Nope." I popped, laughing when he did. "Tommy says he has a surprise and it's making me nervous."

"Ooh, do you think it's another computer?" He hopped from his desk and sat on the tabletop of mine, swinging his legs.

"No. He didn't even buy me the computer, either. He said it was his old one." Jacob reached out to hold my hand, playing with my fingers as I spoke. "Honestly, if it is another computer, I think I'd kick his a-- butt. Kick his butt."

"That was almost a curse word. Not going bad on me, are you?"

"Oh, shut up." He and I sat in silence for a second, listening as a group of classmates started getting in the "is water wet?" debate. Their volume slowly raised and I watched them with unamused looks as they did so.

"Are you doing anything after ten tomorrow night?"

"I don't think so. Why?" I looked up at him and watched as he visibly brightened.

"My friend Conner's throwing a party tomorrow. Costume party. If you're in the neighborhood, text me and I'll let you in." Though I was 100% an introvert, the idea of spending the night like a teen in a coming of age movie seemed very tempting.

"I'll think about it." Was all I could say. Maybe I should convince Tommy and Tubbo to go too. The bell rang and I stood up, swinging my bag over my shoulder. "See you later, Jacob."

"Bye!" He waved, grinning before leaving into the crowded hallway. I started to beeline to Tommy's last period, which was at the gym. A smile crossed my face when I spotted his blonde hair and hunched posture through the crowd. He saw me at the same time and started cutting through the students, reaching me.

"C'mon, we gotta get to my house!" He didn't even greet me, just grabbed my wrist and started pulling me through. I laughed at his eagerness, not even caring that we were barreling through hella people.
