Sonic's P.O.V

Oh.My.Chaos.

I was in complete shock when I was watching the news this morning.I choked on my fruity hoops,the milk almost squirting out my nose.I stare at the television screen in disbelief,my mouth hung open.Right in front of my face on the news was a picture of that cute waitress I met at that diner.Amy.Amy Rose.Her name was in large bold letters at the bottom of her picture.

But what I really couldn't believe was that her father was one of the richest hedgehogs alive.Mr.Rose,in charge of the largest company ever.That waitress that I flirted with was filthy stinking rich.But what would a rich chick be doing working at a diner?Was it some kind of cover up?Or did her dad cut her off for spending too much money?I was still really shocked.

Now here's the real deal.Apparently she has been kidnapped.A daughter of a rich man has been kidnapped.We all know what this means.Yup,she's being held for ransom.They found out about this just a couple days ago,which was the reason why she wasn't at the diner or why she didn't return my calls.Which I feel really guilty about.This whole time I was pissed when she was probably scared out of her fur.

Also,they're searching for her right now..well they're starting too.Just as I was about to continue eating,my cellphone vibrated in my pocket.I slipped it out and pressed a button before putting it up against my face.

"Hello?"

"Sonic."

It's Knuckles.

"I need you to come here now."

I blink,"Um alright,but did you hear the news?"

"Sonic.I'm serious come here right now.I'll explain when you get here.Meet me in my office."

Before I could reply,he hung up.I put my phone in my pocket,dumbfounded.Yet I grabbed a sticky note and wrote it for Tails telling him I'd be back later.I stuck it on the refrigerator and flew out the door.I was already ready for the day,I was just not ready for this.I fix my tie,jumping into car.As I start it up,I make sure my wallet(which has my badge)is in my pocket as well.When I pull out of the apartment complex,I also make sure my pistol is at my side and loaded.

I start driving toward the C.A.O.J. Inc building in a hurry,not really wanting to hear Knuckles complaining about not being there sooner.I just sigh deeply,running my free hand through my quills.Relaxing a bit,I see the big building up ahead.I drive into the parking lot,then park at the reserved spot that I had been parking in since I first started working here.(Which has only been a couple of days by the way)

I jump in a hurry,then speed walk into the building.I notice as I past the round desk in the lobby that that Sonia lady wasn't there.However I just ignore it and walk to the elevator.I impatiently wait before they opened and I got off.I almost run to the door,then open it up without knocking.

"Knuckles?"I ask as I emerge into the office.

I saw him in his chair,staring intensely at a stack of papers.He didn't look up when I approached the desk.

"Hey."I said,trying to get his attention.

Knuckles rubbed his chin,then glanced up at me.

"You watched the news right?Amy Rose is kidnapped.And she was that waitress at the diner."he said emotionless.

I nod,"I was pretty shocked."

He shook his head before skimming a gloved hand over a paper with her picture printed on it.This time he looked up at me.
