Sonic's P.O.V

First off,I'm happy I got the job.The thing that pissed me off is that the waitress,Amy,hasn't returned any of my calls.Anyway,Tails left early this morning to help some girl with her school work.I think her name was Cream or something like that.I'm not really updated on Tails life.I know though,he has been happier lately.I'm thinking that girl has done something to him...Don't be dirty minded...even know I'm smirking now.

Ok back to the call.It was yesterday when I got it,that Knuckles guy called me.I was elated,but remained cool.I could tell right off the bat that guy didn't like me.But he'll have to get use to me since I'm partnering up with him.Ya you heard me,he's my new partner!Great.Note the sarcasm.One thing I'm going to enjoy though is bugging the snot out of him.I chuckle at the thought.

So today is my first day at work.Knuckles apparently is going to show me around the building or whatever.I've actually been there before,but I'm excited about all the secret crap I get to learn.I know I'm acting like a kid but who wouldn't?Don't answer that.I hope I can keep this job for a while,I really need to keep it.I didn't go for five years of college for nothing.

I started driving to that diner where I first met Knuckles,we're suppose to meet there and get some coffee or something.I parked,jumped out,and locked the door before going back to the same spot.There he was,sitting at the same spot and looking identical to yesterday.He still had his black shades and his quill like dreadlocks were pulled back into a ponytail.I slipped into the chair,grinning at him.

"Hey Knuxs."

I saw him furrow his brow before clenching his teeth in annoyance.

"It's Knuckles smart guy,I hope you're ready to take this job seriously,"he said sternly.

I just lean back,"You bet."

I watch as he digs through a black duffel bag,then pulls something out.

"Here,"he slid me a badge with a shiny golden emerald on the front.

I cocked my head and took it,rubbing my finger over it.He also slid me a pistol,a carrying case for the pistol,and some bullets.I smirked and took it,clipping the carrier on my belt.Then I slid the badge into my wallet and loaded my pistol with an evil grin.I heard Knuckles growl when I slipped the pistol into the carrier.

"It's to defend yourself or keep others safe.Not a toy,"he retorted.

"I knew that,"I mocked him,touching the pistol gently.

He just breathed through his nose,"Alright,let's hurry and drink something before we go to the the C.A.O.J. Inc.I have another job to get you after I show around and stuff."

I just nod before a waitress comes by.And it's defiantly not Amy.

"What do you want today boys?"she asked.

She had grey hair pulled up in a bun and a similar dress to Amy's.I cringed slightly as Knuckles looked unfazed.I was really expecting that cute waitress and not this...lady.

"Uh coffee please,"I said hesitantly.

Knuckles crossed his arms,"Coffee also,no sugar or creamer.Just black coffee."

She nodded and left.I shake my head and rest my chin on my hand.I look over at the echidna and sigh.

"Expecting that other waitress?"he asked with a raised eyebrow.

I just roll my eyes and sit quietly until the waitress brings us our coffee.I drink it slowly as Knuckles does the same.Soon our cups are empty and I left a tip this time.I head for my car and Knuckles heads for his.I unlock the door,get in,and start driving.I follow Knuckles to the building,parking my car in a reserved parking spot.Score!I get to park in a reserved spot.A spot just for me.

I chuckle when I get out and lock the door.I see Knuckles and jump on the sidewalk next to him.

"So this is where I'll be working huh?"I ask as we walk through the revolving doors.

He nods and walks to a desk where a hedgehog was typing away.I'm guessing she was like the secretary or something.

"This is Sonia,the secretary,"said Knuckles.

I wave,but she's too engrossed in her conversation on the phone to notice.Knuckles starts walking past as I follow behind him,leaving the secretary Sonia.

"She's always busy so she'll probably not get to meet you until her break or something,"he says,pushing a button to open the elevator.

I nod,"So is this like the lobby or something?"

"Ya,"he steps in the elevator as I follow,"We're going up to our office."

Damn,so much for a private office.

We both zoom up slowly before the elevator stops.Then getting off,we walk down a small hall.Stopping in front of a door,I see it have a sign reading Knuckles in bold print.I cringe.

"Hey where's my name?"I say as he opens the door.

"You can add it later,"he mumbles,walking toward his slick black desk.

It looks like an average office,just a little more dark with only a table lamp to light the room.I stand with my hands behind my back,looking at a picture that had Knuckles and some pinkish looking echidna.

"Who's she?"I ask.

He looks up from some papers before walking up next to me and taking down the picture.

"No one important,"he grumbles,tossing the now cracked picture frame in the trash.

I just shrug and decide not to ask anymore questions.We spend a few more minutes in the office before moving to other places.Like the investigating room where they take people and ask them questions for cases.Then there was a room where there was all these filing cabinets with so many clues for cases as well.There was also this room that was like a break lobby.

He lastly shows me the conference room.

"This is where we have our meetings,"says Knuckles who looks through the huge glass down at the moving cars below.

It was so expensive looking and pretty cool.I felt so grown up and mature,like a business man.In the room was a long rectangular black table with lots of chairs.On the table were laptops,notepads,and some empty coffee cups.A large tv was mounted on the right wall and classy looking lights hanging from the ceiling.

"This is amazing,"I chuckle,now standing next to Knuckles.

He glances at me from the corner of his eye.

"It is.This job is very important,and means a lot to me..."he sighs in content,then turns to me."And this job has to mean a lot to you.This job goes first on top of everything.It comes before love,friends,and pets."

I blink,this guy must really be engrossed in his work.I kinda admire that,it's pretty cool he cares so much for something like a job.

"I will."I say,trying not to sound too uncertain.

He doesn't say anything before turning back to the glass.I do the same and just stare at the cars and other buildings.I then stare intensely until my reflection comes into focus.I smile confidently.This job will be on top of everything.No matter what it is.

A/n:You like?I hope so!This chapter was focusing on mainly how Sonic's job was.And notice that Sonic and Sonia didn't talk much.Like I said,the reason for Sonia and Manic in the story is so the three of them can find each other and find out about them being siblings.No RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THEM!Just to make that clear so no one is confused XD So,I'll be updating soon!Gummy bears~
