*Dream added you as a friend*
"What. The. Fuck" I thought.
I sat straight up, my short legs hanging off the side of my bed. I looked at my phone in disbelief, my hand trembling from nervousness. Dream just added me on Snapchat. Dream. The guy with 14 million subscribers on YouTube, the guy who I had been obsessing about for the past month, the guy with the most beautifully rough voice to ever exist, just added me.
While still staring at the notification, I stood up and made my way to the door all while stepping on the dirty clothes that had piled up for the past two weeks. I walked out of my room and started pacing in Bailey and I's living room of the dorm, completely unaware that Bailey was sitting on the sofa still watching her movie. I believe she asked me something, but I was too dead set focused on the notification that I entirely ignored her existence and walked straight out of the dorm. I then strode down the stairs into the common area, and walked outside.
I put in my airpods, turned on my hype playlist and skipped every song until "title track" by Machine Gun Kelly came on. I then slipped my phone into my sweatpants pocket, and took off jogging. I ignored every buzz from my pocket while I was racing about campus, trying to collect my thoughts. Just focusing on the song and the lyrics, oblivious I was singing along.
I know what is about to happen will change my life, I just know it. My internal freak out from earlier this morning was starting to seep out of me whist I was running around. I almost never go for runs which is explained by my immense amount of heavy breathing, but I needed some sort of an escape.
"I *pant* need to *pant* sit down," I said to myself, hardly being able to push out the words. I was about halfway across campus, but if I didn't sit down I was going to faint certainly due to the lack of oxygen I was intaking. I slowed to a walk and approached a picnic table, one of the many amongst park benches and trash cans littered across campus, perfect for me to sit and work up the nerve to check my phone.
I collapse onto the picnic table with a heavy sigh, my lungs trying to catch up with the realization I was no longer running. I took my airpods out of my ears and sat for a moment, listening to the frogs croaking in the nearby grass. No one else is around, just me and the frogs, and my phone. It's a peaceful atmosphere, I really did need to get out more often at this time of night.
Once my breathing evened out, I finally mustered up the courage to look at my phone.
"Bailey: RIAN WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?" "WHERE DID YOU GO?" "ARE YOU OKAY?" "IF YOU AREN'T BACK SOON I'M CALLING CAMPUS SECURITY TO GO FIND YOU!"
I slide open her text thread, ignoring the other notifications on my phone. "I'm okay, I just needed to go for a run, be back soon :)" I text her, hoping that will keep her satisfied.
I then shift my attention onto Snapchat. My inbox was full of snaps from a groupchat with Sapnap, BadBoyHalo, or Bad as the team called him, and GeorgeNotFound aka George, and Dream. I open up the chat, adrenaline flowing through my veins as I read the messages.
Nick: hi guysss
Bad: HIII!
George: Hello.
I take in a deep breath as I read the next line.
Dream: hi :)
I swallow hard, eyeing the simple lines of text that had been sent, my mind going a mile a minute. I type a simple response saying, "Um hi guys :)"
I slide out of the conversation almost immediately, to which my attention diverts to see that Nick had snapped me separately.
"Heyyyy so I may or may not have made a groupchat with you and my friends..." his snap read, attached to a picture of him with a goofy smile on his sweet face.
