It felt like forever I was slaving away over our battered kitchen preparing everything I could as benny worked with Harry to set the table, Towens making prep for deserts for me, Jolene doing everyone some wine, Matt and Mike working on veg, Beth helping benny with the table setting everyone's chairs up I opened the oven and checked the turkey
"Benny!!" I called "I need your man hands"
"Are My hands not manly enough?" Harry complained
"Yeah?" Matt and Mike complained
"I could help" Towens shrugs
"I need benny he knows how the oven works" I laughed
"Alright. Coming darling" He smiled handing the rest of the table stuff to harry and coming over to help me with the turkey "Dinner's ready Everyone" he told them so everyone headed to the table "Now come to dinner and relax darling" He says kissing my head
I finished up and brought the last few things over to the table as Jolene finished the last drinks "You're Turn" Harry smirked
"I know I know" Benny laughs taking his glass "Well as the host this year it falls to us. and I shall try not the be... as mussy as last year" He warns making everyone have a laugh remembering Harry's tear streaked one last year "We Work in a Very strange world, A Little world of just sixty four squares but I think all of us are more then freinds, more then competitors. We all come from different places raised different ways but ... we are to an extent a family" He explained "Well you've got me and y/n as the central straight couple. Beth and Jolene the fun lesbian wine aunts, Matt and Mike are the random kids always running around, Harry you've kinda become the old person asleep in the chair, Towens your the fun uncle with a camera documenting it all" He explained "Even clio is the Horrible Extended Aunt everyone wishes wouldn't show up because she'll cause arguments and drunken embarrassment" He laughs making everyone laugh too "But I won't ever tell you fuckers to get lost Because we are a chess family, Merry Christmas everyone"
"Merry Christmas!" everyone cheered as we toasted our glasses and had our wine
"Did I do good?" He asks as everyone began to eat
"Very good Benny" I smiled giving him a kiss.
