Liv
Although it took Carmen a while to calm down, her cries subsided, and my shirt was soaking wet. "I am sorry."
"Why are you sorry Carmen?"
"For being a wreck. I am never like this. Not since..."
"Since what?" She looked at me with her puffy eyes and sighed. I knew we were going to need to talk, but it looks like that talk is going to happen today. After all that shit Polly put her through.
"Let me freshen up. I will meet you downstairs and we will talk, okay?"
"Okay. Can I get you something to eat, drink?"
"Just some water, please. I'm not in the mood to eat right now."
"No worries babe. Just help yourself to any of my clothes. You are drenched in sweat. Go and get showered and I will see you when you come downstairs." Carmen nodded her head, and I kissed the top of her head and left the room. I do not know which topic we will talk about first. Her walking out on Thursday, the Polly situation or what is troubling her to have nightmares that would cause her to breakdown like that. Half an hour later and Carmen has joined me on the sofa, looking a little more refreshed but pretty banged up from her fight with Polly. "So, which are we going to discuss first?"
"I am not sure, Liv."
"Well, let's just start with today shall we and we can work our way back? So, Polly...?"
"She was checking me out in the changing room. Sadie advised me when I hit the shower area as she thought it was a little creepy. I said it was probably you, but then I remembered that you were off today as per my morning conversation with Callie...Then Sadie said that she was aware of who my girlfriend is...so she confirmed that it was not you. I was not bothered by being checked out at all, but apparently, she was ogling me again when I was getting dried and dressed so Sadie advised me that she was coming over once I finished getting ready."
"How did that all erupt into a fight?"
"Well, I turned around and Polly's face was a picture when she realised it was me, that she was eyeing up. I asked her why she was ogling me when she was supposed to be with Tammy, but she was not interested in answering that and I kindly reminded her that I had a girlfriend. But..."
"But what?"
"She called you weird or something and I whispered something in her ear."
"Oh jeez...what did you whisper?"
"Nothing major. Just made sure that she realised that you are not what she was saying and that I just get wet saying your name Olivia." My mouth dropped open in shock and then I chuckled.
"Fucks sake Carmen, that is funny." We both let out a laugh but then just as quickly as we laughed, we went back to today's events.
"I stupidly turned my back but she walked away, I heard her retreating, but she came back and grabbed me by my hair and dragged me down the changing room."
"You did not retaliate then?"
"Not once. The only time my hands were on her when I dislodged her from pulling my hair any longer. I love my hair, was not going to lose it for that that stupid cow. So, she threw me about, my eye caught my locker door, she laid a punch and was about to do another when Callie stopped her. Callie was raging and then before I knew it, I was in the first aid room and you came in not long after that."
"My heart was in my throat knowing that you were hurt because of Polly, because of me."
"It is not because of you. Polly has realised what she has thrown away by cheating on you, by leaving you and she was going to stop at nothing to try and get me out of the picture."
