Misfortune Favours The Kind

Was that a scream or just something in the song? He asked himself as he took an earphone out. Beyond the trees he could hear running, a heavy thumping and a light pittering. Who else is out this late? He thought to himself as he put his earphones away and made his way back towards the school.

As he got got closer to the tree line he caught a scent. Haru? Why would sh- His thought was interrupted when the second scent overpowered the other, it was stronger, musky and he recognised it. Riz!? No no no! Where the fuck are they!?

He listened carefully as he surveyed the campus, they were getting closer. He looked over towards the left tower of dorms, where he could best tell the sound was coming from. He stalked closer and thats when he saw them.

Haru came sprinting around the corner, she let out another scream for help before Riz came into view barrelling after her, he let out a deep guttural grunt in frustration as he almost lost his footing.

I didnt realise bears could sound like that! He began a sprint towards them. Haru had an advantage with being so agile and having a high amount of stamina but Riz was catching up.

He tried desperately to get to Haru and save her but he was constantly having to change trajectory as Haru kept jumping and dodging in different directions trying to shake Riz.

She went to turn another sharp corner, trying to fake continuing on straight before making a break down towards the dorms again but she turned too early and hit off the corner of the building, sending her to the ground.

Riz saw his opportunity to strike, to cover himself. If she lived then he would be done. Everyone would know he was the one who killed Tem and he'd never see outside of a prison cell.

He raised his hand and went to strike, not caring to have fun with it anymore, until he was stopped by someone shouting "Don't hurt her!" He looked to where the shouting had come from and was slammed into the wall by their full body weight.

Haru was frozen, her heart rate through the roof and her eyes dilated, looking frantically at the scene before her. She was entranced by fear and shock before he shouted "RUN HARU! GO!" She didn't want to leave him behind but his shouting jolted her instincts and she followed orders.

She ran as fast she could, sobbing with the pain of her re-opened wound on her now broken arm. She saw her dorm and went running for the door, she managed to just about get inside. A final thought hit her before she collapsed. I just left him to die.

                     Earlier that day

Legoshi was woken up by Jack as usual shaking him "Legoshiiii time to wake uuuuup" he tried to be sweet but Legoshi still wasn't used to getting up for school and gave him a harrumph in response before turning his back to the dog. While this went on Matthew was in his bunk listening to it all while the other guys laughed and jostled around the room doing their morning routines.

I cant believe I'm still awake from yesterday, fuck me! He groaned to himself, he was absolutely exhausted but now had no more time left to try and sleep, instead he'd have to get up and face his first day of school. I've done it with school and I've done it with work, I'll be fine. He told himself, trying to calm down before opening his curtain and getting out of bed.

He hit the floor harder than he expected to, nearly falling trying to catch himself. The other guys started to laugh while Jack and Legoshi gasped before jumping out of the bed "Hey we told you to use the ladder! Youre going to hurt yourself if you keep doing that!" Jack scolded as Legoshi looked him and down for any injuries
