The Box of Little Critter

Chapter Twelve

As Adam was dropped off at home, he quickly ran inside. The door was slightly opened. Panicking, Adam ran inside and looked in every room in the house. No sign of Tianna. The house was completely empty. Pictures crooked, things knocked off of shelves, and the couch was slightly out of place. Adam started pacing in the living room, trying to think straight.

"This can't be happening. This can't be happening." 

Adam pulled out his phone to call the police, when he saw a piece of paper on the coffee table with his name on it. He reached over, opened it and read it. It was a letter in really messy handwriting that said:

Tianna iz with mee. she iz saf. do not wory. 

if u come aftur hur, u both wil die.

Adam's mood quickly shifted from fear to anger. 

"With this handwriting, it has to be critter," Adam said to himself. He ran to his room, quickly grabbed the emergency pistol from the closet, then headed toward the door. Before he left, he heard slight shaking coming from the attic. Adam slowly turned and headed up the attic. He saw the box critter came from. It was empty and open just as they left it. However, it was shaking pretty violently. The closer Adam got to the box, the less violently it shook. Adam slowly grabbed the box and it stopped shaking completely. 

"Weird," he said to himself. Holding onto the box, Adam then ran out the door. 

As Tianna sat waiting for god knows how long, she heard footsteps walking closer to her. She stayed silence as a door opened a bit, letting in some light in the room. It was the first time Tianna could actually see and look around at her surroundings. The light hurt her eyes after being in the dark for a long time, but she knew she needed to figure out where she was. She then noticed Little Critter walking up to her. Seeing critter made Tianna really mad. Not only has he hurt Adam and put him in the hospital, he took her away from Adam when he needed her. She did not expect such a tiny creature be able to do major tasks. The last thing Tianna remembered was critter running up to her then everything went black. When little critter walked up to Tianna, he gave her a small smile. Tianna just responded with a glare.

"No angry face please," critter said. 

"Well you are giving me multiple reasons to," Tianna said, pissed. "So I think it's deserved." Critter just shook his head.

"Doing you a favor," critter responded. "No more stress. No work. You have room. Just relax."

"I didn't ask for this!" Tianna yelled furiously. 

"This is my meaning. You stressed and exhausted from life," he explained. "Enjoy the rest of life in your room." Then he left. Tianna quickly struggled more aggressively. 

"I have to get out of here," Tianna told herself. Tears started to fill her eyes, but she did not want to let them fall. She had to focus on getting out. All she could think about was Adam in the hospital and she didn't know if he was ok or if he knew she was missing. 

"I have to keep trying," Tianna said to herself. "For Adam."
