chapter 21: a day, a dawn

~ one week later ~

It was early in the morning as all of the girls snuck out of their homes as they soon met up. "Everyone here?" Asked Tori as Nina and Zenzi came running in with Tao in Nina's backpack. "We're here!" Zenzi called. "Jeez, everyone's got raccoon eyes. What the hell happened?!" "Nightmare." The girls answered as Tao was a bit caught off guard as he baaed at them. "Not translating." Said Ally. "Why?" "He cursed." Ally answered to Zenzi. "Let's be honest ladies, it's a Tao thing." Said Bianca. "But, it feels weird." Everyone then looked at Nina. "Well, where are the pakari herd? They should be here." Said Nina. Zenzi then fished for her compass in her messanger bag. "I think this is why we have to keep these close to us. But, I'm not sure about it." She said.

"Hopefully Chae-nun unnie doesn't kill me after this." Nina mumbled to herself as she followed her friends to the stable. They then peeked into the entrance as they checked if someone was inside. "All clear, let's go." Tori whispered as the rest nodded. The girls then started to sneak in as the some of the horses were already awake as Jackson looked at them with his eyebrow raised. He then whined at them as Ally closed his mouth and shushed him. "Don't! Your gonna get us caught!" She whispered.

"I mean we're literally coming in here at sunrise to find out if-" "Tao, I will stuff you into Nina's bag." Ally replied through her teeth, accidentally cutting him off. The girls kept on checking the stalls as Nina was really confused. "What are we looking for?" She asked. "Remember those fairies that someone spoke off of?" Nina nodded as Zenzi snapped her fingers. "Looking for their dust." She said. "Point: how do we find them if their so tiny? Not to mention that they could be hiding under a horse's tail or something." Tao questioned as he was right.

They could be working for Ace for all they know! However, mysteries can't solve themselves now can they? "I swear, we're spies at this point-" "and what are you girls doing in here?" Someone asked as the five girls were caught off guard. It was IU and Mark. "We're doomed." Ally mumbled. "Ummm uhhh- just going off on our mundane lives of riding in the morning, yup!" Said Tori as she nervously smiled at the mentors.

Zenzi then turned her head around as she then saw a tiny pair of brown eyes looking at her before flying off. "What the-" she then paused as they were still in trouble, Mark saw what Zenzi saw but he didn't say a thing about as he didn't want anyone to think that he was insane. Though this is Takanero stables, where it's known for its abundance of fairytale stories and mythology. IU was still scolding off the girls, before they explained everything. "Sorry, you know you could've told me that you were looking for something." She said. "First off, why didn't you just look in the library?" "We have a library?" Asked Tori as Bianca raised an eyebrow. "Yip, c'mon this way." Said Mark as he led everyone towards the larger building connected to the stables where every other student kept their supplies, saddles, bridles, and other types of stuff. They went in and got into a room that was filled with books. "Why didn't you tell us?! This is amazing!" Zenzi said as she bounced a little.

"Well we did, you guys weren't listening." "Sorry." They said. "I think we have a few lessons today, don't be late or your gonna miss the fun!" Said Ji-eun as she and Mark walked out of the library. The girls then looked at eachother. "My advice, out comes the compasses and in comes the path." Said Tao as the group nodded. Everyone then took their compass as they then held it out while all five glowed brightly and started ticking again. It then showed an image of a weird looking book that looked like it was read a thousand times.

"Spell book of Yorunolang." Tao translated as it had a bunch of rune symbols. "Who's Yorunolang?" Asked Tori as Tao shrugged. "Surprise surprise, I actually don't know." He said. "ZEN ZITAO!!!" The girls shouted. "Hey it's not my fault that it's older then me by four hundred years!!! Heck, it could be anywhere in this room." Ally sighed as everyone put their compass back in their previous places.
