chapter 17: glowing air~ 🥭

~ at the tournament ~

"Victoria Lanaday and her horse Christopher." The announcer declared as Tori got nervous again. Chan gently headbutted her back as she petted his forehead. He then squeaked a little. "Ok, maybe I'm a little nervous, I've never done a freaking race like this before. What if we fail?!" "Tori, how can you be sure if you don't even try?" The young horse asked her. Tori thought about it for a moment, he was right. "Plus, it doesn't matter if we win or lose. Let's just have some fun, imagine running through the forest and visiting the village." Said Chan as Tori nodded and smiled.

"Let's do this thing!" Tori yelped with excitement as Chan neighed, helping his rider hop on. "Good luck you guys!" Said JB. The mentors and their horses were then led off to somewhere as Tao kissed his lover's hand as a sign of goodbye. He then watched Tori and Chan trot into position along with Chae-nun and Changbin. "And go!" The race then started as Chris galloped quicker then ever, three horses being behind him while two others were in front of him.

"We've got this Chris, it's just you and me!" Tori said. Soo-man was watching the two from afar as he then looked at Nina and Yeonjun who were cheering theur friends on. "Go unnie, go unnie!" Nina hollared. JYP saw the man looking at the competition as he sat down next to him.

"Is he in jail?"

"Yup."

"Your students?"

"Doing a lot better, just look at Tori and Chan go. I'm proud of them."

"Those tales, about the pakari." Soo-man said as JYP started to chuckle. "I still feel like I saw one when I was still their age, remember?" He asked as Soo-man nodded. "I still don't believe you." "That's fine, Bang Si-Hyuk will always believe me~" JYP said calmly as he smiled to himself. "Yet your the same guy who wore those weird pants-" the man started to look at his fellow trainer as he covered his mouth. "When will you shut up about the pants?! That was only a one time thing, I was drunk." He whisper-yelled. Soo-man then removed the man's huge hand from his mouth. "Fine, alright. Either way, their doing better then I expected! Wow!" "That's what music and friends  can do." Said JYP.

"In second place is Victoria Lanaday and Christopher!" Chan reared up in celebration as Tori giggled and smiled while waving at the crowd before Chan came back down. "And in first place is Choi Chae-nun and her horse Changbin, along with Min Yoongi and his horse Hoseok!" The crowd cheered for the winners and other racers as Changbin neighed happily. "Not fair, why didn't I race too?~" Seungmin asked as he puffed his cheeks in a playful anger. "Minnie, do you know how fast you are?!" Asked Ally. The young horse neighed while nodding. "If you were out there, then your speed wouldn't be normal. I mean, the last time you raced with Tori, Doyoung was shocked and almost fainted!" Said Felix.

"Ok, that was a fake faint." Jisung pointed out to the group. "Either way, you guys did amazimg out there!" Ally said, changing the embarrassing topic. "Thanks Al, now I'm wondering how Nina and Luko are gonna do."

~ a few minutes later ~

Everyone's parents started arriving as Tori saw her own and little brother. "Angel brat, hey!" Said Tori as she waved at her brother. "Jess, Solar!" Ally yelled as she hugged her sisters. "I thought you weren't coming." "Dumbass, y'know we wouldn't miss this!" Said Jessi as she smiled and rolled her eyes. The audience started watched Nina and Jeong-in as the judges looked at them.

Bianca and Hyunjin already went as they had a pretty high score even though they were in a completely different stable. "Akarin stables has a higher score of 178!" The announcer said. Bianca then turned Hyunjin over to the younger riders, she then touched her shoulder. "Don't stress girl, ya got this." She said. Minho looked over as Nina and Jeong-in got ready for their challenge, they then got nervous again as the group looked at eachother as Chan looked at them. "C'mon you two, don't listen to the crowd!" He silently pleaded as Jeong-in almost heard him.
