Today is a special day for me. My father goes to give me to Mohammed sir's class. It is not often any of my parents walk me to class and so I sort of feel blessed. Besides I will choose my father's company even over the most handsome guy in the world.
"Assalamu alaikum, sir," Aadil greets my father.
"I would just take a seat," I say to father.
"How are you sir? Haven't seen you in a long while," Aadil continues.
"Yeah, I am fine. Just except the sugar levels," my dad replies.
"Well that is actually quite bad."
My father came today to invite all my classmates to the get-together that we are arranging on the following Saturday. I am eighteen so I am allowed to invite a few guests of my own. And my special guests are Mohammed sir, Uncle Sahib, Aadil, Hadi, Saeed and of course AAYAN.
They all come one by one. I actually feel lucky that all of them are present today. I actually feel a bit nervous that if they will think of this being too weird. I will hate it if none of them come. But I knew it is just delusional, Saeed out of all will of course come.
"I am Amber's father," my father introduces himself to all.
"Yeah, sir, we know, Salam," replies Hadi.
"So, I would like you all to come to my home on the following Saturday."
"Of course we would try our best," replies Aadil.
"I would be really happy and my daughter would be too."
The invitation session is brief. Aayan seems to be surprised but he puts up his neutralist face. Maybe he is thinking that what has come to this girl's mind. She has hardly known me for a week and she is already inviting me to her house. Will Aayan even come to my precious little house?
Aadil seems to be the most excited of all. If he and Aayan both comes, a drama series is going to happen. I will just go upstairs at our neighbor's house and will never come down. But somewhere in my heart I want Aadil to come. But maybe I want Aayan more and cannot help it.
The class mostly passes in silence. What catches my attention is a few sharp intake of breath of Aadil. What is going on in his mind? If he comes, I will be either unconscious or probably be dead. Okay, calm down. It is a get-together and there will be hundreds of people.
At one part of the class I glance back behind me where Aayan is sitting. He looks up at me at a questioning glance. I take out my phone and hand it to him and ask him to type down his phone number. He never asks once and just promptly put his number on my phone.
Then to my greatest surprise he asks me to call back. Aayan wants my number too? For what? But I do not take a moment to think this and just dial his number. His phone rings once and he cut it. I wonder what he saves my number in the name of. If it is just Amber, it will be too ordinary.
"I had texted my address already," I say to Aayan.
"Yeah, I got it, thank you," replies Aayan.
"You will come, okay? You have to."
"Well, I have exams on Sunday."
"Well, you have almost 72 hours to prepare."
My heart sinks when he just says that he cannot come. But I am determined. I push him hard and just rebuke all his excuses. I have to make him come to this get-together. I will never have the chance to invite him over to my home ever again. He has to COME!
Finally he says that he will try. He again asks me the time. I tell him to come at 4pm. Just half an hour before so that I can have some sort of conversation with him. He looks convinced and I sigh but still have my insecurities. But I decide to put my trust on him.
Even Mohammed sir pushes him a little. He tells repeatedly that everyone will be there and he will enjoy much. Even Saeed tells him that he will be going and they can spend some quality time together. I thank them in my mind for their effort.
I look directly into Aayan's eyes and try to be certain of his determination. Suddenly one single thought crosses my mind. If he comes to my home, will it be for me or will it be for Zara? Because when saying everyone I say Zara's name too.
"If you don't come, just see," I threaten Aayan.
"I will come okay. Just relax," replies Aayan.
"I would be so upset if you don't."
"You will have everyone else."
"But I would be waiting for you."
With this I leave the class and silently pray to God that may he come to my home. I have never prayed to God so much about anything ever before. I even stand below the staircase a little, just in case if Aayan gets down. But he never does.
I start walking towards the gate and soon get out of it. I do not want them to just belong to my 3G life. And if they come to my home, they will be attached to my personal life too. Let's see if 3G will allow me to share some people with it.
