- Three years later -

Beep, beep, beep, beep!

Destiny groaned at her obnoxious alarm clock, pulling one of her pillows out from under her head and slinging it at it. Personally, she thought there should be a law against getting up in the morning!

"DESTINY! GET UP!" Katy yelled promptly, almost as if she knew Destiny would ignore her alarm. Katy did know, of course - she knew Destiny better than anyone.

"I'M GOING, I'M GOING!" Destiny yelled back. She then set to work, getting ready for college. She went to a college just around the corner from where Katy lived. It wouldn't take her too long to get there, but two of her best friends would be over soon for a lift.

Everytime Destiny thought about her friends - Cathy, a spirited girl with tanned skin and chocolate brown hair to match and Alexis, an almost Barbie-perfect blonde - she got a tingling feeling inside.

They had met her first day of High School in America, along with their other close friend Becca. Becca was a slightly short, ginger girl with very fair skin and went to a different college - they didn't see her much because of this.

Destiny's skuffed her trainers on the gravel as she entered Solomon Mixed High School. Her stomach twisted in nots and her nails began scratching again her wrist out of habit. She kept her eyes on the ground, her usual goal in mind; invisibility.

Unfortunately, the effect was ruined as she found herself colliding with a tiny ginger girl. Both girls books were immediately sprawled all over the ground.

"Oh no! I-I'm so sorry!" The young girl stammered, pushing her think-rimmed glasses back up her noes and blushed furiously.

"But it was my fault," Destiny replied in shock. The ginger girl immediately began to protest feebly, taking the blame. Destiny stopped her and handed back the books. "No, really. It was all my fault. I'm very sorry."

"I-It's fine," the ginger girl said. "You-you're new, right? Would you like a hand?"

"Sure!" Destiny cried, relieved at how nice the girl was. "How did you know I'm new?"

"You're accent. Nobody here's British except a senior named Jake," the girl explained. The two girls began strolling towards reception together. "So what's your name?"

"Destiny," Destiny told her. "And yours?"

"Rebecca, but my friends call me Becca. Sometimes Becky or Bex, but hardly anyone says Rebecca." Becca said, talking more as she became more confident.

"Pretty name," Destiny complimented and grinned down at the girl. Becca grinned right back.

The two girls spent the rest of the morning together. It turned out that, although Becca looked younger, they were actually the same age! Becca introduced Destiny into her two friends, Cathy and Alexis. It wasn't long before the girls were chatting like old friends. Destiny loved them and was happy to find out about them.

Cathy liked playing volleyball and liked running track, she was extremely sporty. You could tell just by looking at Cathy that she was sporty and she had an amazing sense of humour.

Alexis liked cheerleading, but also enjoyed literature. She hid it well, but deep down she was a bit of a nerd. Alexis looked like the classic 'popular girl' and her natural confidence sparkled.

Becca was a true nerd, and wore the title well. She was quiet and shy and enjoyed spending her time reading. There also didn't seem to be a subject she wasn't good at!
