It was the middle of class. The teacher (finally here, for once) was giving us instructions for the practical exam on Thursday. Today was Tuesday. Only two more days until exams. Fuck.

Huh? I felt something hit the back of my head. I turned around and saw a ball of crumpled paper on the floor. I looked up and saw Leon, mischievously grinning, writing a note and balling it up. He threw it at me and it hit my face. I scowled playfully and read the note.

I crumpled up the note and threw it at his head. He chuckled, but then that slight look of sadness came back to his face. That's when I noticed that I felt the same thing.

After school, I went straight to Donut Land, and as I walked in the door, I saw Leon already sitting at a table. I went and sat down next to him.

"So," I began, "what do you want?"

"Cheesecake," he replied.

"That's it?" I joked.

"Make it a big slice," he started, "so we can share." He smiled. His smile made me want to melt into a puddle of gushing human, it was so cute and it honestly made my day.

"Isn't that sort of a couple-y thing to do?" I asked.

"No," he replied, "unless you want it to." I shot him a look and he chuckled, ending it with that tiny sad look. I got up to get the cheesecake as Makoto and Kyoko came in for their weekly date. They sat at the table next to us.
