I woke up to quiet talking around me, my head pounding against my skull. Hands were running themselves through my hair softly. The voices around me sounded oddly like Blaise, Theo, and Draco. I slowly opened my eyes and looked up at the one holding.
"Good morning, hun." Dray kissed my head softly.
"Morning." I muttered, slightly confused. But I hid my face in his neck anyways, relaxing into his embrace.
"You sleep alright?" Draco asked me.
"'M still tired." I muttered as I got comfy again.
"Sorry love, but we have breakfast in thirty minutes. Don't you want to go see your parents and brother and uncles??"
"Fine." I huffed in annoyance.
"We need to find you clothes."
"Alice taught me the trick to change them, just give me a sec." I snapped my fingers once I stood and my hair was done, my makeup was done, my outfit was changed."You look great. Give us a few to change and get ready and then we'll head down to breakfast." I nodded and sat on Draco's bed again. They came out of the bathroom fully dressed and ready to go in ten minutes. "You ready?" Draco asked.
"Is no an option?" I asked nervously as he took my hand. We left the common room after everybody else, heading down corridors and up stairs until we reached the Great Hall. I gulped nervously. "I don't think I can do this Dray..." I whispered.
"You can do this. I know you can. Just try." He whispered soothingly into my ear before Blaise and Theo opened the door. Everyone seemed to take a glance but did a double take, gasps and shocked whispers filling the hall.
"Harry, look." Ron elbowed my twin. Harry looked up, his mouth full. Harry chewed and swallowed before standing up.
"Hi..." I told him.
"You're back??" He asked me.
"Don't be such a guy and get over here." I demanded, both of us going forward and hugging each other tightly. "I've missed you Haz." I muttered into his chest.
"I've missed you too." He muttered into my hair.
"You've grown so much. This," I gestured to all of him, "is not okay. I need you to shrink and fast." He chuckled and hugged me again.
"Where are Mum, dad, Siri, and Remmy?" I asked him as we pulled back, looking around.
"Don't know. Haven't seen them sense Dumbledore showed up again yesterday." Harry told me.
"Oh. Okay." I said, a little disappointed.
"We can go find them."
"I'm starving right now Haz. After breakfast??"
"Yeah." Harry nodded. I kissed his cheek and headed back over to Draco.
"Even if he is your brother, I still got a bit jealous." Draco admitted to me. I giggled and turned his head and kissed his lips.
"That better?" I teased.
"Oh yeah, way better." He smirked, putting his arm around me as we headed to our seats. Pansy looked at us in shock and disgust. We ate and laughed for thirty minutes before I had to go with Harry to find mum and dad.
"Found them." Harry pointed ahead of us. I put my finger to lips and ran forward before jumping onto dad's back. But somehow he freaked out and flipped me onto my back. The wind was knocked out of me and I was coughed.
"Ow." I croaked.
"Elle!!!" Mum yelled.
"That hurt." I peeled open my eyes and all five of them were hovering above me. "Ya know what, between the bloody nose the day I left and this, you're not getting anymore hugs." Siri helped me up softly before pulling me into a hug. Everyone except dad gave me hugs.
"Where's my hug?" He asked me.
"Nope." I turned away from him sassily, not even looking at him.
"What do you mean, nope? I want my hug!!" I flipped him off and tossed my hair over my shoulder. Sirius and Remus snorted in laughter. "I'm sorry Elle, please give me a hug!" He begged. "I haven't hugged you in years, I need a hug."
"Nope."
"Hey." Draco approached us all. "Professor Potter, what's got you so down in the dumps?"
"I won't hug him."
"Why not?" Draco asked me, seeming both amused and confused at the same time.
"Because when I jumped on his back to surprise him he flipped me and slammed me onto the ground. Between that and the day I left when I was nine when he gave me a bloody nose, I refuse to touch or give him a hug until he makes up for it."
"How is he supposed to do that?" Draco questioned me.
"Apologizing, maybe a few gifts, I don't know."
"Gifts?" Sirius looked confused.
"I love caramel chocolate, I hate dark chocolate though, white and peppermint are two of my other favorites. I love books too."
"What type of books?" Remus asked me.
"Spell books. But also journals so I can write down my own spells. I already have five journals full so far and I'm almost through my sixth."
"There's no way you've written that many spells." Sirius told me, in shock.
"Well I have, I assure you. Not all of it is spells, there's also tips and tricks for supernaturals, how they act, how to spot them, as well as potions and such I created or improved versions of ones in the books for Hogwarts."
"Improved how?" A voice came from behind me. I turned around and saw Professor Snape.
"Hi Professor Snape."
"I choose the books for each year. Improved how exactly Miss Potter?" He asked slowly.
"Just... improved??? I don't know. I just realized that the effects could be enhanced with the side effects less severe. Take the wolfsbane potion for example. Take out one of the ingredients and replace it with two others, and the wolf wouldn't have to hardly change at all. It takes one large dose every six months with the one I made and it's only getting better as I slightly change it, eventually a werewolf won't have to transform at all with my potion."
"What are the side effects of your potion?" Sirius asked me curiously.
"The hair that grows won't completely stay, but the werewolf would have to shave more often, a slight breakout is possible, and sometimes it can cause the voice to fluctuate in volume or pitch just slightly."
"What happened during the transformation?"
"As far as my research has gotten me, it'll cause the legs and arms to lengthen just slightly, the werewolf will be more aware to humans around them, they won't attack unless being threatened, much like Hippogriffs, and the hair everywhere will grow about two inches before shortening at least one and a half inches, which then leaves an extra half inch after every transformation. Which means that the werewolf will be more humane, less likely to injure themselves or others, and they'll just be a bit hairier." I told them all, explaining everything I knew. As far as research got me at least. "At least that's the goal on what it does. No clue if it works, I haven't spoken to or seen anyone except Alice in months."
"Would you like to test it?" Mum asked me.
"On anyone willing. It would be nice to help them. I also created a potion that, when it hardens, gives the taste of blood, enough to fulfill a vampire's appetite for at least a week."
"How do you know it tastes like blood?" Remus asked me, seeming amused. I shuddered in disgust.
"It tastes like it. It tastes horrible." I grimaced.
"You tasted it yourself??" Harry seemed amused and surprised at my choice.
"How else was I going to make sure?! I was puking all day the next day. Couldn't stomach anything. I puked blood for what felt like forever, I learned my lesson on tasting things. I never tested another potion on myself after that."
"You'll have to show us your other spells and potions sometime."
"No! They aren't ready to be seen yet. They aren't all completely and utterly finished and they aren't that good to begin with."
"Your findings seem beneficial to the wizard community and safety." Snape told me.
"I-I don't care. They aren't ready." I adverted my eyes to the ground. "The werewolf one and the blood tablet are the only two I'd trust to be out in the world. Nothing else. It gives them a sense of normalcy. It would be less noticeable that they aren't human. They could live a normal life within our community, that's what I want, I don't want the credit, I just wanna help them. Nothing more." The bell suddenly chimed.
"Alright, apparently we've been here longer than we thought. It's lunch time. Let's go." Dad said.
"Professors, could I speak with you four, as well as Harry for a moment?" Draco asked Dad, Mum, my uncles, and Harry.
"Dray?"
"I'll meet you in a few minutes. Don't worry. Go on without me. You're much too skinny after all those months on the run. Go eat."
"Uh.. okay.." I nodded before turning away and trailing behind Snape on our way to the Great Hall.Draco's POV:
"What is it you need Draco?" Mrs. Potter asked me.
"I would like your permission to date Eloise." I said, feeling my heart beating wildly in my chest with nerves.
"Wait, what?" Sirius leaned forward slightly.
"I would like your blessings to date Eloise as long as she agrees. I'd take things slow. But I want to have our first date Hogsmead weekend as long as you all agree. I won't do it if you don't all agree. But before I ask her to go on a date with me, your blessings would mean a lot."
"You've got guts kid. I just get my daughter back and you're already trying to take her away again." Mister Potter told me.
"I assure you all, that wasn't my intention. I love your daughter. More than anything in this world except my family because she has become apart of my family. She's been there for me, even if it was as Rosalie, she was there for me for years and I want the chance to prolong that. I don't want our graduation from Hogwarts to be the last time we see each other. I want her in my life for many years to come. And as a man of respect, I would like your blessings to do so. One date. If she hates me by the end of it, I won't pressure her into anything more, we'd stay strictly friends, nothing more and nothing less."
"You love my daughter, huh?" Misses Potter asked me, straight faced.
"Yes ma'am. More than myself." I said seriously, staring straight into her eyes.
"Well I agree. You're so polite and well-mannered and you asked us beforehand. You're going to treat her right, I know it."
"I agree as well. I can tell she loves you too." Harry told me. Now for the three I've been most nervous about.
"Fine. But hurt her and I'm coming for you." Mister Potter told me sternly.
"I don't plan on ever hurting your daughter sir, I can promise you that." I get a small smile on my face just from the thought of her.
"Okay, yeah, what you just did was sweet. The small smile at the thought of her. It was cute. You may ask her out." Remus agreed. I felt my cheek turn pink at that.
"Yeah, alright. But only because Remus agrees and you're technically family to me by blood."
"Thank you all so much, you won't regret this. I promise." I went jogging toward the Great Hall, but slowed down.Eloise's POV:
I was waiting for Draco and kind of worried what he wanted with my parents, brother, and uncles.
"He's fine." Blaise told me from across the table.
"Obviously not. He doesn't know them like I used to. They're way over protective and hard core." I told them seriously.
"He'll be fine." Theo told me.
"No he won't. What could he possibly want with them??" I asked them all nervously. They looked at each other before down at their plates. "You two know something." I said, kinda harsh.
"No we don't." Blaise adverted his eyes.
"Yes. You don't tell me or I swear to Merlin, I'm hexing you."
"We can't say!! Draco wants it to be a surprise!!" Blaise and Theo both stood up and backed away from the table. "We swore we wouldn't tell you, no matter how badly you were going to hex us!"
"You two can't keep your mouths shut, can you?" Draco's voice came from behind me.
"Tell me what's going on this instant Draco Lucius Malfoy or I swear to Merlin, I'm hexing you too." I told him sternly.
"You are hexing nobody." My wand was plucked from my hands. I swung around and saw Remus behind me.
"But they won't tell me what's going on! I want to know! And for your information, I don't need a wand to perform a hex. It just helps a bit." I crossed my arms, looking at him, staring him down. He got nervous.
"You're not easy to keep stuff from, but I don't care, I'm not telling you." He tossed me back by wand before walking away.
"You'll find out tonight." Draco told me softly.
"I want to know now." I pouted.
"Tonight. I promise. Just be here ten minutes before dinner, okay? Dress fancy and I'll tell you everything."
"Do you promise?" I asked him.
"Yes. I absolutely promise. Now sit and eat." He kissed my temple softly before sitting as I did.
"Is it something I'll like?" They all three gave me a look making me pout and cross my arms again. "What are those looks for?"
"Stop asking questions!" They said in unison.
"Oh come on~." I whined.
"No. Keep asking questions and maybe it won't happen tonight, maybe I'll do it another night. Now shush, and eat." Draco said sternly. I huffed and stuffed my mouth full of food, still pouting.
