Those lonely streets that you were all too familiar with. The ones filled with the wrong doings of the night. The happenings of the night. The night was the dangerous part of the day. You felt safer during the day. But you had to walk this lonely street at night. You went out with a friend of yours, celebrating their engagement. You hadn't expected the celebration to go on as long as it did. and you were frustrated to say the least.

Walking past a dark alleyway, you heard a noise. To your innocent ears, it sounded like a person screaming. Daring to draw closer, your suspicions were correct. You hid to the side of the alleyway, peaking in to see the event unfold. You didn't want to watch it, but your brain, no, your body made you. You kept taking glances in the direction of the alleyway before dropping to your knees at what you had just witnessed. You wanted to believe it wasn't so, but you knew, deep down, it was.

What you saw would stay with you, for years. You watched as a boy around your age was beating up another boy of the same age. You wanted to step in, to stop the scene from unfolding. But you didn't know if it would actually make a difference. Your body acted on its own and you lunged towards the two boys, standing in between them. The boy that was stood up, took a step back. Most likely shocked at your actions. You crouched down to the boy who was injured and started wiping away some blood from his face.

You glared back at the boy still standing before looking away, gulping down the lump in your throat. You felt oddly intimidated by him, yet you didn't know why. You continued wiping away the blood while the boy winced slightly. You ripped the shirt that was tied around your waist and started using that to wipe his blood. The boy who injured him was still stood there, staring at the scene that was unfolding. He didn't really know what to do.

You stood up, slinging the injured boy's arm around your shoulder and began to walk out of the alleyway, hoping the other boy wouldn't stop you. He stepped forward into the light and you got a good look at what he looked like. He had dyed blonde hair that was brown at the roots. He had piercing golden eyes. You turned your attention back to the boy on your shoulder. He also had blonde hair which was also brunette at the roots. However, he had piercing brown eyes.

"Why'd you intervene?" The boy on your shoulder asks.

"Cos, I can't just stand by and watch someone get injured. I can't stand it!" You say to him, continuing your walk to your destination.

He didn't say another word after that, he just let you take him where you wanted to go. He still wanted to know why you really saved him. Why even walk into the alleyway in the first place? That was the thought running through his head. Why had you stepped into the alleyway and save someone you didn't know. He shook the thought off and looked in the direction you were heading in. You eventually arrived at the place you wanted to take him to. It was an abandoned clinic.

You opened the door before closing it again and bringing him further into the clinic. His eyes darted around the abandoned building as you led him to a room. You set him down on the bed before looking around for the supplies you had stashed here. Your parents used to run the clinic before something happened, so you decided to somewhat keep it open. You would normally just treat small wounds, but you were able to treat bigger.

You gathered everything you needed; bandages, towels and rubbing alcohol. You then went back to the boy you had brought to the clinic. His eyes landed on the stuff in your hands before darting them away and looking at one of the plain walls. You edged closer to him and began pouring the rubbing alcohol on one of the towels. You began to clean his wounds while he winced in pain. You ignored it and continued doing what you were doing, eventually finishing.

"You know that guy could've followed me here, right?" The boy says.

"So? Not like this place is anywhere near where I live. This is just a clinic. You reply, packing up the leftover supplies you grabbed.

"Right, someone your age just so happens to know an abandoned clinic." He says, sitting up.

"For your information, my parents ran this clinic before something happened. Why was that guy even fighting you in the first place?" You say, rapidly jumping to another topic.

"Because. We had a disagreement. So, that happened. That's all I'm saying anyway. I should go." He says.

"That's random." You mutter as he leaves.
