Part 21: The Discovery

I closed my eyes and leaned on Jay but after a while, I was being carried up stairs, it must have been Jay because after he had put me into the bed he kissed my forehead and said “I love you Daisy, you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me and I am never going to let anything come between us” He thought I was asleep but I just had my eyes closed. A shudder of guilt went down me, how was I meant to sleep with that on my mind? How could I sleep with a guilty conscious?

I didn’t. Jay fell asleep quickly next to me; I just look up at the ceiling thinking things through. Jay had thrown me out when the newspapers wrote that I came on to another guy, he would defiantly disown me if he finds out that I had nearly kissed another guy; especially one of his band mates. I eventually drifted off when my body forced me to.

Jay wasn’t there when I woke up the next morning but I heard noise from downstairs so I wondered down to find Sian and Tanya sitting on the sofas watching Spongebob and eating cereal from their bowls.

“Daisy!” Sian reacted as I joined them, “Mornin!” we all said to one another. I resumed my usual place on the sofa, “Where’s the boys?” I asked as Sian rested her feet on me, she looked so cute in her Christmas socks. “Oh they have an interview today, didn’t Jay tell you?” Sian asked, I responded by shaking my head. “Oh well you did fall asleep quite early.” Sian smiled, “Anyway; they left very early” Tanya added. “Oh did you stay the night, Tan?” I asked, “Oh no,” She shrugged, “I just came round this morning”. Sian looked at me raising her eyebrows slightly.

“Actually girls, I wanted to talk to you,” Tanya continued, “It’s about, Tom.” Sian sat up excitedly, “OH I LOVE BOY TALK” she beamed, “Spill!” I just smiled at Tanya. “Well it’s just, you both stay round the night with Jay and Nath, don’t you? And well, Tom’s never really asked me to. D’you think he’s gone off me?” I was about to try and comfort her but Sian beat me to it, but in a much louder way. “NO!” She yelled, “He loves you! Stop being so stupid! Otherwise he wouldn’t invite you round all the time!” I nodded agreeing with Sian, staying silent.

Tanya sighed. “We’ve never actually, you know, kissed properly” She began, I was shocked. “What do you mean ‘never actually’? I see him kiss you?” Sian said, and not in the politest way ever. Tanya went shy. “I mean, of course he’s kissed me on the cheek, and quick pecks on the lips but not like a PROPER kiss.” She explained, looking my way for comfort over Sian’s interrogating. Sian was chewing her cereal and couldn’t question her so I found a slot to comfort her. “I’m sure he’s just waiting for the right moment” I spat out, trying to reassure her with my wisdom. I noticed Sian had finished chewing, “Just kiss him,” she protested “boys LOVE a girl who’s in control. It’s sexy” I shook my head at her which said ‘What are you saying!?’ I was beginning to get the vibe that Sian wasn’t very fond of Tanya. “Don’t listen to Sian, she’s just being stupid,” I said glaring at Sian then looking back to Tanya, “just wait, he’ll kiss you when he’s ready.” Tanya sighed again, “He’s become quite distant recently and I just think that... I just can’t help thinking that maybe he’s interested in someone else.” My throat became tighter and my eyes looked down to the floor.
