Two Days Later (Shift day)
Stella's point of view
I had just dropped Kiah off at the sitters and now I was heading to work. The past two days I was trying to think of a way to tell Kelly about Kiah. I figured out that the best way to tell him is just to say it. There's no point in trying to hide behind it because the whole truth will come out in the end anyways.

I walked up the apparatus floor and was greeted by Foster and Brett who were restocking the ambo. "Good morning!" Brett said. "Morning" I said walking towards the ambo. "So you gonna tell Severide today?" Foster asked. "I'm going to try my best." I said. "That's the spirit" Brett said. "I'm gonna go change out" I told them. I walked in the locker room and the one person who I hoped wouldn't be in there was there. "Morning" Severide said. "Morning lieutenant" I said. He walked out and I just sighed in relief. I didn't want to tell him right now because it's not a very good way to start a shift.

We had our morning briefing and then everyone headed to do their duties. I finished up with the tools and so I went in and washed up. I was walking to my bunk when I saw that Severide was sitting in his quarters. I knocked on the door and he waved for me to come in. "Hey lieutenant. do you have time to talk?" I asked. "Yeah. I always have time for you" He said. I came in and closed the door. "You closed the door, so this must be important." he said. "Yeah it is" I said. Then as I was about to continue the alarm went off "Truck 81, Ambulance 61, Car Accident, 96th and Wabash" "To be continued I guess" He said. "Yep" I said leaving his office. I ran out to the truck and saw Brett and Foster loading up. They gave me a look and I just shook my head no and got in the truck.

We arrived on scene and Casey said "Kidd and Hermann take that car Mouch and I will get this one." "Copy that" We all said. Hermann and I went over to the car. The person inside was badly injured and the doors were jammed tight, we didn't have much time. "This is going to take too long. I'll go through the window so that way I can take care of him" I said. "Be careful" Hermann said. I got in the car and bandaged up the victim and put a c-collar on him. "We can get a backboard through the window to get him out" I said. "Alright copy" Hermann said. They brought a backboard and I put the victim on it carefully. As they took him out the window the car ignited in flames. After the victim was moved away from the car I jumped out the window and rolled on the floor. "Kidd! Are you alright?" Casey asked. "Yeah.. Yeah I think i'm fine." I said as I got up. "Nice work! Are you sure you're good?" Casey asked. "Yeah I'll live" I told him. "Why don't you ride with ambo and go get checked out at Med." Casey said. "Captain really I'm fine" I said. "Go anyways" Casey said. I walked over to the ambo and Brett examined me. "You got a little burn on your arm. How does your shoulder feel? You landed on it pretty hard" Brett said. "It's a little sore but i'm fine." I told her. "Well let's go to Med and just make sure you didn't dislocate it or anything." Brett said. "I guess" I said.

We arrived at Med, Brett and Foster brought in the victim on the stretcher and I walked in. One of the nurses took the patient with Brett and Foster into a room while Maggie came up to me. "Hey Stella. What happened?" Maggie said. "Car accident, I went in to grab a victim and the car ignited I had to jump through the window" I said. "Any soreness?" She asked. "Just my shoulder and then I just need my wrist bandaged" I said. "Alright let's get you in a room. I want to get an x-ray of your shoulder to make sure you didn't dislocate it or anything." Maggie said. "Alright" I said.

Nobody's point of view
"Here let me clean this and then I'll wrap this up. How's the little one?" Maggie asked. "She's doing good, she's been teething and trying to crawl. So she's keeping me on my toes." Stella said. Maggie laughed then said "So you're at 51 now?" "Yeah I have been there since I came back from maternity leave. Just a change of scenery." Stella said. "Yeah the people at 51 are great." Maggie said. Maggie finished wrapping the burn and then they did the x-ray. "Alright. Your x-ray looks clear, no break. You're probably going to be sore for a couple days, just take some aspirin and you'll be fine." Maggie said.
