👑Short story 3: Mystery Pt.1

2nd POV

"What about dad?" Your mom sigh
"They finally found the remaining of the private jet, the left wings of it and a badge floating in the middle of the ocean" your heart started to sped up
"B-badge?"
You rushed to your room opening the closet, to reveal the box the memories box that you had stored throughout your life. You frantically dig through it to reveal the Survey Corps badge, you and your dad got as souvenir when the family visited Attack on Titan theme park. It was one of your most prized possession with your dad. It's you two little promise with each other.
"Is it the brown badge with blue and white wings on it?"
"Yeah"

You whimper, heart tighten against your chest tears falling nonstop as you held the badge in your hand tightly. You heard your mom sniffle on the other line after a long silence.
"M-mom?" You stutter
"This is the first time I hear you cry ever since he passed, you didn't cry after the news or at his funeral"

You had always wanted to believe there will be a day where your dad would return, even though it's been years, you refused to believe he's gone forever. It looks like reality has finally sunk in for you. He's really gone for good.
"Anything else?"
"That's all of the information I was provided with for now. I think they might reopen the case because they suspect it might not be an accident but it's only a possibility it's has not been confirmed yet"
"What do you mean?"
"When they went over the case again they found an audio of the pilot freaking out before it disconnected"
"So your saying that there's another possible outcome?"
"I'm not sure I can't confirm anything yet. I think you should go rest now, I know this is a lot of things to take in at once and we need to be patience"
"Alright I'll talk to you later. Bye mom love you"
"Goodnight bub I love you too"
