👑Chapter 12: Persistent

3rd POV

Oikawa had been persistent to say the least, ever since they met up yesterday he had constantly been bugging Y/N to go out with him, apparently he stole her phone number while she visited the bathroom and started to text her all afternoon after she got home til 1 in the morning, hell he even spam her phone earlier today. Why was he so attached to her?

Honestly the great king himself doesn't understand why either, from an outside perspective Y/N is a little above average but doesn't stand out much, she has a laid back personality but also she's a fun person to be around, and is a independent queen. Her physical appearance was nothing special either mostly because she tends to cover up herself, he can tell. But there's just something about her that he was just suck into along with his best friend Iwaizumi. Iwaizumi never took any interest in girls but Y/N is a special case. He'd always admired strong with charismatic personality girls, and Y/N gave just that vibe, and to mention she's not one of Oikawa fan girl, thank god for that.

Focus back on the court, Karasuno had really made their presence known, people were impressed at the old fallen champion and Y/N was extremely proud of course feeling prideful over her boys. Although she's not one to scream her lungs out like others fan girls, the boys can feel the fire in her eyes cheering for them, it motivated and it fire them up.

Yachi beside her was clasping her hand together while trying to calm down her nerves, this is her very first match after all. Oikawa behind finally settled down and shut up because of Iwaizumi threatening him, but both him and Oikawa occasionally glance at Y/N from time to time secretly wishing they had a female manager just like you to cheers for them.

The match finished with Karasuno wins, this match honestly was just a stepping stone for them, because after this they'll face the real challenge, the one that made their ace retire for a while.
"You guys did so good" Y/N said smile softly at the boys, they gave her the same smile back some blush at her being soft for them, that moment didn't last very long as a voice of a certain orange head enthusiastically said
"Did you see me N/N? Did I look cool?" Hinata said jumpping up and down

"Yes Sho-sho you did amazing" Kageyama glares at Hinata at the two nicknames they both gave to each other, out of everyone Kageyama had the least interaction with Y/N. But again he doesn't make an effort to be near Y/N and yet he still feels irritated when she's near other boys.

Same goes to Tsukishima, though he has interacted with her before it seems like the two is starting to loose connections and it pissed little Tsukkipoo off but being the tsundere he is he acted differently from his feelings. He too glares at his childhood friends when he see the girl and his friends interacted, and unlike Tsukki they've been getting even closer.

While the team rest Y/N walked past the gym peeking into the room seeing the other team finishing up while the other team warms up getting ready for their match, if she remembers correctly it would be Aoba Johsai's match next. Turning around she was baffled to see Oikawa's face right next to her's she can feel his hot breath fanning her face, her ears turn bright red from the sudden close contact (she don't blush). Oikawa chuckled at the girl
"Are you waiting to see yours truly?"

Iwaizumi standing not far behind the two witnesses the scene in front of him (somewhat he said) jealous, he wasn't about to lose to Oikawa again not giving up her to him at least. Iwaizumi isn't one to react this way but when it comes to Y/N he can't help but feels overprotective towards her despite not knowing her that well. He stomps toward the two and smacked Oikawa extra hard, harder than usual.

"Ouch! Damn it now your just being violent Iwa-chan" Oikawa whines holding his head at the pain looking at his friends, Y/N on the side trying to calm her heart beat from the interaction, how embarrassing she thought. Needless to say she has never been through something like this before so she doesn't know how to react, not wanting to entertain Oikawa further more she ran away.

She slow down her steps after running for a while just to realized she stopped in front of a gym door again, inside was Shiratorizawa doing a spiking drill. As she steps away she felt her shoes become undone, crouching down to tie them together. A ball rolls towards her feat stopping next to her sneaker, Y/N picked the volleyball just to make eye contact with a boy with a weird bowl haircut, it made her chuckled not realizing that the boy in front of her was blushing furiously from the eye contact

"I-um c-can I get t-the b-ball back?" He stutter, someone from afar catch the sight of the two together, it was Ushijima. He was talking to the coach when he saw Goshiki running after the ball then he saw her. She left a big impression on him so he recognized her almost immediately, seeing his underclass men talking and laughing with her made his inside boils up a feeling he's not familiar with as he continued to stare at them.

"Here ya go" Y/N said cheerfully after her laughs it made her forget about Oikawa for a second improving her mood. Goshiki shyly grabbed the ball before running back frantically to his senpai still blushing, he rarely get to exchange with a girl and not to mention she has the most beautiful eyes he has ever seen from their eye contact and the most beautiful laughing voice. His upperclassman teases him as soon as he got back standing next to them. While Ushijima put on a neutral face expression glancing at Goshiki wondering what did he said to make Y/N laugh like that.

Hi, sorry this chapter was kinda rushed cause I completely forgot about this book, I wanted to make Y/N interact with the boys more so I just shove a bunch of characters in here
Btw most of the peeps mentioned in this chapter will be relevant later in the series.

(Honestly I don't like this book a whole lot but it's necessary for me to write it for my second book you know to give some background information about
Y/N relationships with the Haikyuu characters)
