My husband and I are sitting on the couch in front of the fireplace of the rustic cabin that we rented for Christmas. We got married only 8 months ago and since this is our first Christmas as husbands, we decided to spend it alone. Of course our families were pissed at first, but we promised to spend it with them next year; they could only agree. We chose a little town in the mountains where they rent comfy cabins. We went to snowboard yesterday and even walked around town, which is completely delightful, but today, the 25th, we decided to stay home. The surrounding of the cabin is filled with snow, since it has been snowing for a while now.
Like the temperature has descended a lot, we decided to get comfortable on the couch, cuddling each other as we drink some hot choco. We are really comfortable in our pajamas with some hoodies and winter socks on. We exchanged gifts around two hours ago and we have been talking ever since. We started talking about our jobs, then our families and I guess one thing led to another because we end up talking about a lot of other different topics. My back is resting on the couch as Jimin's back is pressing to my front and his head is resting on my chest as my arms are wrapped around him.
- Do you think we were selfish? In deciding to spend this magical time without our families, I mean.- Jimin asks me after taking a sip of the hot liquid in his mug.
- Maybe a little bit, but we spent the last four Christmases with them. I really wanted to have some alone time with you.-
- You do know that we have been living together for a while now, right?- He sassily asks, making me chuckle.
- But we are always working. You know what I mean. I wanted this... just this.-
- Yeah, me too.- He turns a little bit to look at me.- You know? You are a much better husband than I thought you would be.- I lift an eyebrow.
- Mmm, what's that supposed to mean?- He lets out a gorgeous laugh.
- I didn't mean it in a bad way. It's just that I tried to imagine how my life with you was going to be and no matter how great it seemed, it has been so much better than that.-
