Draco's POV

Dear Diary,
It's Monday and I'm skipping classes. Snape talked to me early this morning, telling me to get a move on. It's only been a couple weeks back, how many? I don't know, I can't keep track. I haven't seen Josephine, I didn't go to breakfast. I don't want to see her, I can't. When I think of her now it makes me mad. I hate her for doing this to me. For being so perfect, just why did she have to ask? Why does she care? For all the six years I've known her why does she all of a sudden care?

I put my diary down and look to the cabinet right in front of me. "Come on little shit, just work." I mutter to my wand. "Harmonia Nectere Passus." I said as I pointed my wand to the cabinet. Little gold sparks shot out but nothing more.

I set my wand down beside the cabinet and grabbed an apple from my pocket. I placed the apple into the cabinet and closed it. "Please work." I muttered as I imagined dying at the wand of Voldemort.

I stood there for a few seconds not knowing what to do. Should I do a spell? Should I just wait and see if it disappears?

I opened the cabinet to reveal a missing tiny piece from it, like a mouse had nibbled on it. "Fuck this." I said and dropped the apple to the floor. I kicked the table next to the Vanishing Cabinet only to regret it a second later when my foot started to ache.

I grabbed my wand and headed out of the room of Requirements, I was going to see Josephine. It was 10:42. She would be in Potions.

I was at Slughorn's classroom door when I remembered I had left my diary back in the room of Requirements. "Shit!" I muttered and ran back.

I arrived in the room and headed towards the cabinet when a girl stood near the cabinet where I had been. My heart stopped, did she find my diary? Did she read it? Is she going to tell Dumbledore? Or Josephine? I thought.

"Uhm hello?" I said, my voice croaky. Fear was consuming me, I could be done for. I would be thrown in Azkaban. My parents would be killed and surely Voldemort would somehow kill me.

"Oh, hello." The girl responded. I had never heard her voice before.

She turned around to face me. She had long blonde hair with blue bright eyes. I stood there, staring at her. I had never seen her before.

I cleared my throat. "Uhm, I just left a book over there." I pointed to where my diary would be, "I just need to get it and then I'll be out of your way."

"Oh this?" The girl picked up my diary. My heart beat started to go ballistic. "Yes yes, that's the one." I said quickly and snatched it out of her hand.

I turned to walk away when she spoke again. "I never got your name." The girl said. I rolled my eyes not turning to look at her.

"Draco Malfoy." I said and began to walk away again.

"I'm Aurora Usoro." The girl called after me. I didn't reply but only walked out. I didn't have time to chat with a girl who I don't even know, I needed to find Josephine. I needed to apologize. I didn't want us to end.

I headed back onto my way to Slughorn's classroom. When I arrived I put my ear against the door to listen. "Nice Harry!" Slughorn cheered. I snarled.

I knocked on the door before walking in. Slughorn looked at me confused. I looked around to Josephine when I saw she was sitting next to Potter. She stared at me with an unamused face. I glared at the boy next to her.

"Mr. Malfoy? Can I help you? Professor Snape told me you were sick." Slughorn asked, glaring at me. "No, I just need to speak to Josephine." I replied not looking away from Josephine's beautiful eyes.

"Well I can confirm that she is in class and you can wait until the lesson is over." Slughorn said. "It can't wait Professor, I need to speak with her now." I said through gritted teeth.

Slughorn gave me a final glare before saying, "Fine, go, but quickly! Can't let one of my best students miss too much." Slughorn smiled. Josephine gave me a slight glare before grabbing her bag and walking out of the classroom.

I followed her. "What is it Draco?" She asked. "I'm so sorry, I acted out and I regret all the shouting I did. I want you to know what's going on on my life and my feelings I do! It's just I have a hard time expressing them and-and I get angry quickly." I said quickly.

"Good. I want to know when you are feeling bad Draco. I care about you deeply I do but, I can't help you if you don't tell me what's going on. So what's going on?" Josephine asked with furrowed eyebrows.

What's going on? What's going on is I have a task to kill the fucking headmaster of this school or get killed myself! I wanted to shout.

"Er-my parents said if I continue to slack off in school they'll be cutting me off and kicking me out of the manor." I lied. Josephine's face softened.

"Well for starters you need to start to show up to class. If you need help studying I'll help you and if it comes to that you can always stay with me or Leaky Cauldron." Josephine said. As a smile formed on my face one appeared on hers.

My smile dropped when I heard the voice. "Hey Josie." The same blonde girl said. I turned around and there she was smiling at me rather than Josephine.

"Oh hi Aurora, this is-" Josephine started.

"Draco, yes we've meet." Aurora finished. I rolled my eyes and turned back to Josephine.

"Oh, okay." Josephine said. "So what were you guys talking about?" Aurora asked, eyeing me up and down. I looked at Josephine with an uncomfortable expression as did she. "Oh, emotional I see. Well, see you two later I suppose." Aurora said before she stalked away.

"Is she new?" I asked. "Yes, just transferred this weekend. Very nosy but I feel bad, she hasn't got any friends yet apart from me." Josephine sighed but I wasn't listening.

"So we're good now? You forgive me?" I asked. Josephine laughed. "Yes, now could this really not wait until after Potions?" She asked. "Not like you even like it." I replied while grabbing her hand but she quickly drew away.

"Draco, remember? Nobody knows." Josephine said looking around. "Oh, well I guess I'll see you later, if you want I'll be in my dorm sleeping since I don't feel good." I lied.

"Okay." Josephine said and walked back into Potions.

I headed back to the room of Requirements ready to attempt to fix the cabinet again, still with the other plan rotating at the back of my head.
