"I smell quidditch brooms and, rain water and, a bit of mint.""I smell vanilla and, blueberry waffles and, old books."

Draco's POV:Dear Diary,
My Josephine, walking right in front of me, laughing with Longbottom. What could be so funny? Why is my Josephine laughing with another boy? There she goes, sitting down at the Gryffindor table, still with Longbottom. She's starting to eat her favorite breakfast food, blueberry waffles. Her smile is so perfect, her everything is perfect. I'm not hungry right now, well now a days I'm never hungry. I only watch her eat. If only she knew, how much I love her, but I'll wait for her however long it takes. I will do anything it takes to make you love me. We will be together some day. I will-"Hey Draco." I heard an annoying high pitched voice say. I looked up to see Astoria.
"What do you want?" I asked annoyed. "What are you writing?" She asked while leaning into my diary. I quickly pulled it away.
"None of your business, now leave me the fuck alone." I spat. It was silent for a moment so I looked to Astoria. I could see her eyes filling with rage.
"You know Draco all I ever do is try to help you but you're so fucking self centered!" Astoria yelled.
Everyone in the great hall stopped talking and looked to us, but I was only focused on finding a certain pair of eyes. When my eyes met Josephine's she gave me a confused look.
"Shut up you're causing a scene." I whispered.
She scoffed and walked off. I redirected my eyes to Josephine who was still looking at me, furrowing her eyebrows.
I quickly got up and left the great hall.
~
I arrived at potions a bit early. I watched the door waiting for Josephine to walk in, and she did, with Granger. I still don't understand why she hangs out with those people. She can do much better.
I watched them as they walked to the other side of the classroom where the Gryffindors stood.
I kept my focus on Josephine until I heard someone start to talk.
"Ah Harry my boy, I was beginning to worry, brought someone with us I see." Slughorn said. Of course, he's already fond of Potter.
"Ron Weasley sir, I do suck at Potions so I'll be going." Weasley said. Potter pushed him forward. "Any friend of Harry is a friend of mine, please grab a book." Slughorn replied.
Granger started to babble on about potions while Potter and Weasley fought over a book. Pathetic.
I looked over to Josephine to see her laughing, her sweet little laugh, which made me smile. "And that one is amortentia, the most powerful love potion in the world." Granger started to say which grabbed my attention.
It would be easier to use it on Josephine but I would never do that to her, she will love me on her own, however long it takes.
"It's rumored to smell differently to each person to what attracts them, for example I smell freshly mown grass and, fresh parchment and, spearmint toothpaste." Granger finished saying.
"Thank you Ms. Granger! Now if everyone can come up and tell the class what they smell. Line up behind Ms. Greengrass." Slughorn said. My heart started to race. Would she smell me? What do I even smell like?
I lined up directly behind her. She leaned in and smelled the potion. "I smell quidditch brooms and, rain water and, a bit of mint." Josephine said. Do I smell like that? I quit quidditch this year, but I use mint shampoo.
I just stood there thinking of all the possibilities of who she could've smelled.
"Mr. Malfoy your turn." Slughorn said. I leaned in and smelled the potion. "I smell vanilla and, blueberry waffles and, old books." I said. My Josephine scent, no question about it.
I went to go stand next to Josephine and started to fiddling with my rings, being careful to not let the sleeve of my robe slip up.
I tried to sneak a quick glance at Josephine but as soon as my eyes met her she turned to look at me.
I have her a little smile and she returned it. We stared at each other for a few moments. I could feel my face heating up so I redirected my attention back to my hands.
I wasn't paying attention till I heard Potter say, "I smell vanilla and, blueberry waffles and, old books too."
I fucking knew it, he fancies my Josephine. It sucks for him because she is mine and mine only. I gave him a glare and he returned it.
"Mr. Malfoy and Mr. Potter, I see you two fancy the same person, very interesting." Slughorn said. I rolled my eyes, who knew this new potions teacher would be one for drama.
After everyone finished telling what they smelled, we started to brew Draught of Living Death to win liquid luck. I needed this, for my Josephine.
~
Potter won it of course. Josephine was one of the few people who applauded him. Bloody Potter always having the attention, doesn't he get enough already?
I stormed out of potions class and headed to transfiguration. "Malfoy wait!" I heard Potter yell from behind me. I turned around to see him running up to me.
"What do you want?" I spat. "You, your amortentia, you fancy Josie?" Potter asked. Shit.
"What? You're mental. Common smell you know that right? You fancy her?" I asked. "Er, common smell." Potter said and walked away.
Fucking dumb ass he just asked me if I fancied Josephine because he smelled her too! And why is he calling her that horrid name?
My thoughts redirected from my angry thoughts about Potter to Josephine.
I stood there for a moment remembering of how my Josephine's hand felt in mine. How it fit perfectly. How that would soon turn into a daily thing. How it would soon not be just Josephine or just Draco. It would be Josephine and Draco.

Hey guys! I know in this didn't happen in the Slughorn but I wanted to do where they smelled the amortentia. Any guesses for who Josephine smelled? You won't get to see Josephine's POV's in the early chapters because it will spoil everything! Also no hate to people who's name is Josie! Draco doesn't like it because he didn't come up with the name! Love you all and please comment and vote!❤️
