Alula looked around at the hall. She didn't know why she was here.

"Filth! Scum! By-products of dirt and vileness! Half-breeds, mutants, freaks, begone from this place! How dare you befoul the house of my fathers - " A painting screamed.

Alula walked over to the painting. For a split second, she thought she was looking through a window, a window behind which an old woman in a black cap was screaming and screaming as though she were being tortured - then she realised it was simply a life-size portrait, but the most realistic, and the most unpleasant, she had ever seen in her life. The old woman was drooling, her eyes were rolling, the yellowing skin of her face stretched taut as she screamed.

"Shh," Alula said.

The woman stopped screaming at looked at the girl before asking, "Who are you?"

"Alula Black." Alula smiled.

"Black?" The woman questioned. "I have a Granddaughter? Who's are you?"

"Sirius."

"That blood-traitor, that-" The woman started to shout.

"No," Alula said calmly.

"You disrespect me?" The woman looked shocked as did the two men still standing behind Alula.

"You disrespected me," Alula commented.

"I like you, child." The woman smiled. "You're smart."

The painting then seemed to fall back asleep as the curtains around her magically closed.

"The Order of the Phoenix is a secret society that I created-" Dumbledore went to explain, but Alula was too angry with him to listen and she had held herself together for too long to keep going.

"I don't care," Alula said.

"Al-"

"I have just spent a month locked in a house of people who want to murder my friends and the people I love!" Alula raised her voice. "I wasn't even allowed to write a letter to my father to tell him that I was still alive."

"I understand-"

"No, Dumbbells, you don't!" Alula started to shout. "You did not have to sit in a room where you were constantly reminded that your boyfriend was just 'collateral damage'! You did not have to be afraid to leave your door unlocked at night! You didn't have to worry that a dark mark might appear on your arm without your knowledge! YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO WATCH TWO MUGGLES BEING MURDERED AS ENTERTAINMENT!"
