3rd Installment Chapter 10, 11 and 12

Chapter 10

Eileen was perched up on the rock that was half her height. She stood up and started waving with both her hands as she saw people coming towards her. The girls ran as fast as they could, which wasn't that fast, given that the area was very rocky and they could trip on the stones. Eileen gingerly stepped off her boulder and walked slowly towards them. She looked haggard; she may have been crying. Shelly reached out and gave her a hug, "Are you okay? What happened? We were so worried!" cried Lindsay as she joined in on the hug. "Where's Earthee?" asked Shelly, breaking away.

"Let her breathe first, she looks like she just saw a ghost," Daniella observed. "You are talking like Sammy now." Lindsay replied. "I didn't mean it literally, it's a figure of speech," she retorted. "Didn't sound figurative to me at all," Shelly joined in. "Do you guys really think-" "I think Earthee is possessed," Eileen interrupted Daniella's come back.

There was moment of silence before Daniella raised her eyebrows, held Eileen's shoulder and looked her in the eyes and said "Okay?" They were all waiting for her to laugh but she didn't but looked at the ground and just said, "I'm not joking, she isn't acting normal at all." "Well, we don't really know what's her normal is, even though we have been talking for years this is the first time we are seeing each other's real personalities," Lindsay said trying to rationalize whatever she thought she was hearing. "It's not that, you don't know what I saw." Eileen replied still looking at the ground, shaking her head as if the answers she was looking for were written on the stones. "Call Elinor and Sammy and let them know we have found Eileen, they must still be digging." Eileen looked up from the ground and tried to make sense of what Shelly just said, as Lindsay went on the side and called the rest of the girls. "We found your phone under the sand, we didn't know what to make of it," Daniella explained without sounding as embarrassed as she felt. Eileen shook her head at that and said, "We need to find Earthee, I think she needs our help."

Lindsay hung up her phone and said, "Elinor and Sammy are on their way, should we start moving or do we wait until they get here." "I think we should wait for them, let's not split up anymore," replied Shelly. "So, what really happened?" They all looked at Eileen expectantly.

"I am not sure, myself. I remember going back to our spot with Earthee. She was being awfully quite, I tried to talk to her but she didn't say anything at all. I thought she was just tired until we were near the tall rock. Then she kept asking me to go to the caves with her, I told her we can't, it was too late, but she kept insisting. I was collecting the stuff and the next thing I know she wasn't there. I must have lost my phone then and I have no idea how it got under sand, maybe it was the wind. Anyway, I looked around and Earthee was nowhere. The only place I could think of was the cave, so I came this way and saw her walking towards it I called her but she wouldn't turn around, I figured that she couldn't hear me over the wind, so I ran after her. She wasn't running or anything, so it was easy to catch up to her while I dragged the cooler behind me. When I finally reached her she wouldn't even look at me and kept walking straight. I even tried to stop her by holding her arm, but she just shook me off and kept walking, her eyes were weird. I kept following her for some time but then my sandal broke and I couldn't keep up with her on these jagged rocks. That's when I found out that my phone was missing, and I couldn't even walk back because some of these rocks are really sharp. I am so sorry I should have stopped Earthee, I don't know what I will do if she gets hurt," Eileen covered her face as her guilt became apparent. "This is not your fault, we will get her back and figure this out together," Daniella tried to comfort Eileen as Shelly gave her another hug and said, "Yeah, don't beat yourself about it, Earthee will be okay."

Chapter 11

When Elinor and Sammy joined the girls, they looked horrible. Elinor's hair was all messed up and both of them were covered in sand, they would have laughed at her but this wasn't the time. Daniella explained everything to them as fast as she could. "I don't think she is possessed but there is definitely something fishy with her," Sammy said as if she knew what she was talking about. "I can't believe that you are the first one to say that," Daniella said as she rolled her eyes. "Well, whatever it is we need to get her back, I need you all to check if your Dimashistan apps are working, this would be much easier if we have help. Here is your phone Eileen," Elinor said handing over the phone. The app wasn't working for anyone. "I guess this means we go where Earthee has gone," Lindsay announced. "I know the general direction but it's impossible to walk on this path without shoes, I've tried."
