HOOR POV:
"Ap?"
His unexpected presence left me dumbfounded, my cheeks flushing red as I realized he had caught me dancing. Standing there awkwardly, I struggled to find words, my mind drawing a blank in the midst of his intense gaze that only added to my nervousness. 'Of all times, he had to come in now,' I thought, feeling utterly exposed under his scrutiny.
"I, uh, you should freshen up. Dinner is almost ready," I managed to stammer out, avoiding his gaze and hoping to divert the attention away from my embarrassed state. Without a word, he turned and walked away, leaving me with a whirlwind of emotions.
As I resumed my tasks, the atmosphere felt tense during dinner. Neither of us spoke, creating an awkward silence that seemed to echo in the room. I stole glances at him, wanting to break the silence and express the myriad of thoughts swirling in my mind. However, each time I attempted to speak, the words eluded me, and I remained silent.
Eventually, he stood up, signaling the end of the meal. Just before leaving, he turned back and uttered, "The food was good," before exiting the room. His brief acknowledgment felt like a chasm of unspoken words, leaving me sitting there alone, lost in my thoughts.
My mind replay the say of my ruksati and memories of my brother's words on the day of my ruksati resurfaced, echoing in my mind and adding to the turmoil of emotions that I grappled with silently.
"You are going to be fine he knows enough and you should be thankful that after coming to know about you and your past, he knows that you are his responsibility till his last breath." My brother voiced echoes in my head. I blinked my eyes trying to understand what did he mean by that. What did he really mean by saying that? What did Sikander know. Panic slowly settled inside me and I clenched my jaw.
No One Pov:
Hoor entered the room silently, her expression unreadable as she held out a glass of water towards Sikandar. His gaze shifted from the glass to her, confusion evident in his eyes as he tried to decipher her demeanor. Accepting the glass, he drank it in one go, all the while studying her for any hint of emotion. However, her face remained impassive, giving away nothing.
Returning the glass to her, Sikandar watched as she took a seat across from him. His heart skipped a beat at the sight of her, her beauty captivating him as always. Her attire, a white frock paired with a churidar pajama and a white dupatta, highlighted her elegance. Her long, dark brown hair cascaded down to her waist, appearing incredibly soft and inviting. Sikandar couldn't help but admire her, a desire to run his fingers through her hair lingering in his mind.
As tears streamed down Hoor's cheeks, Sikandar's heart sank, seeing his wife like this. Without hesitation, he reached for her hand, gently caressing it in a soothing manner, trying to calm her down. When she finally spoke, her voice trembling with emotion, Silander remaind silent.
He straightened her posture, gently lowering her hand and wiping away her tears, his touch tender and comforting. Leaning forward, he placed a soft kiss on her forehead, causing her breath to hitch at the affectionate gesture. "Whatever has happened, it changes nothing between us," he reassured her in a calm yet resolute tone.
Hoor lips parted as a sob left her. More tears welled up in her eyes as she stared at him. Her breath hitched as she try to control herself. His words were healing her wounds. What had she ever done to deserve him? What could she give him? Everything was snatched from her. What could she possibly do for him? Why? Why he was not leaving he deserve far better then her. He deserve someone who had no scars yet there he was telling her that he dont care?
