HOOR POV:

I hurriedly stepped out of the bathroom to grab my phone, a smile already forming on my lips. "Assalam O Alaikum," I greeted warmly as I put the call on speaker, starting to do my makeup.

"Walikum Assalam, where were you?" his voice filled the room, and I couldn't help but smile even wider. "I was in the bathroom. How was your day?" I asked, focusing on applying lip-gloss to my lips.

"Boring as always, and to top it off, you're not at home to make my day," he lamented. "Nothing feels right when you're not here. I miss having your head on my lap while I read, the scent of your hair as I fall asleep... The silence when I come home. It just doesn't feel right when you're away," he confessed, tugging at my heartstrings. I, too, missed him dearly, longing for his touch and presence.

My brother had come to pick me up as planned, and that had already put Sekandir in a sour mood due to his work commitments. Today was the Mehndi function, and I was getting ready for it.

The event was being held at home, with only close family in attendance. I playfully teased Saira, which almost led her to tears until my mother intervened, scolding me to let her be.

Blushing at his heartfelt words, I decided to tease him a little. "Well, I'm having a lot of fun here without you. You know, I even saw this handsome guy," I teased, knowing how possessive he could get.

"Hoor, you don't want me to come there and..." he started in a warning tone, but I cut the call, unable to hold back a chuckle at his slightly irritated tone. He called back immediately, but I decided to switch off my phone, relishing in the playful banter and teasing between us.
Oh, he will kill me.

I looked at myself in the mirror, nodding with a smile of satisfaction. Grabbing my phone, I stepped out of my room and into the lively atmosphere of the Mehndi function. Two hours flew by in a blur of laughter and dancing, with both the younger and elder members of the family joining in the festivities. I chuckled at the silly dances and antics, capturing some moments on video.

Turning around, my eyes met with dark, intense ones that sent a shiver down my spine. I gulped nervously, shocked to see my husband there. How? What was he doing at the function? I blinked repeatedly, half expecting to wake up from a dream, but it was all too real. He was there, his expression serious as he exchanged greetings with my mother and other family members.

Our eyes locked and I tried to smile at him nervously when he ignored me totally making me bite my lips. His demeanor was distant, and yet, he looked incredibly handsome in his black kameez shalwar with a white shawl draped over his shoulder. I couldn't help but admire his perfect appearance as he walked away, leaving me puzzled and a bit anxious.

Slowly, I made my way over to my mother, about to say something.

As my mother spoke, instructing me to fetch her phone from her room, I nodded and began walking in that direction, my eyes scanning the crowd for any sign of my husband. Before I could reach her room, a hand suddenly grabbed mine, pulling me into a darkened room. Panic surged through me as fear started to take hold.

"Wh-what, let go of me!" I exclaimed, my voice trembling with anxiety. A hand covered my mouth, muffling my words. "Shush, my Angel, it's me," a husky whisper came into my ear, instantly calming me as I recognized his voice.

"Sekandir..." I started to speak, but he didn't respond, simply holding me in his arms. I placed my hands on his chest, trying to get his attention, but he grabbed my hand and hissed down at me.

"You didn't miss me? Huh?" His words came out dangerously as he brought his face closer to mine, sending a shiver down my spine. "I- I..." I struggled to form a response as his closeness made my knees weak.
