Seraphine (born 1475) lived seventeen years as a British peasant before her family made a bid for the New World. Her whole family perished on their ship, leaving her alone in a scary new land. Seeing no way of survival besides marriage, she prays a desperate plea to an ancient and scorned god, who decides to allow her escape in the form of immortality.
As Seraphine progresses through time, from Period 1 (1491-1607) to Period 9 (1980- Present), she screws up the timeline over and over again, calling for the intervention of the God of Time over and over again to fix her messes.
She's his greatest nuisance, and he is sworn to send her back to her old timeline if she messes up too badly for him to fix. Can love surpass ancient duty or the desire to survive, or is Seraphine doomed to go back to the life she'd rather ie than live.
