I wasn't expecting it, but I wasn't exactly surprised either. Maybe I'd seen it coming. At the very least, I should've seen it coming. There had been signs, of course. Then again, it's my fault for not realizing the different patterns of the Earth cycle, or how the rivers flowed backwards. Deep In the heart of what once was called America, citizens are devastated by the sudden outbreak of an ancient sickness called the Bubonic Plague. Determined to provide for her family Harper applies for any job available in the ancient city of New York. However, only when she lands a position as a nurse at a hospital for the plague does Harper find true happiness in the middle of utter destruction. Only one thing is keeping a piece of this joy away from her, the revealing of a past hurt and a saddening future.

This is a story about a rat during the Black Plague running away so that he doesn't catch the disease. Will he catch it? Does he recover? Will he ever see his loved ones again? You will find out in this story. This story is more for people who understand what the Black Plague is and how it occurs, if you don't know what it is, then you should still be able to read it, you just might not understand some parts.
