Connor is about to kill himself when he decides to read Evan's letter. When he realizes how alone and afraid Evan is, he becomes worried. So he stays alive for another day to monitor Evan, and to figure out where the sudden concern for this random kid came from. However, new feelings bloom from this, and might lead to something worth protecting for forever.

Evan Hansen watched the taller boy take off with his letter, thoughts of what he might do with it rushing through his mind and encouraging him to pursue the thief. He manages to keep up, unaware that his small interaction with the dark character would cause a friendship to blossom between them. ~ COMPLETE DEH AU where Evan befriends Connor.
