Entered the Public Domain in 2022! The quintessential novel of the Lost Generation, The Sun Also Rises (Fiesta) is one of Ernest Hemingway's masterpieces and a classic example of his sparse but powerful writing style. A poignant look at the disillusionment and angst of the post-World War I generation, the novel introduces two of Hemingway's most unforgettable characters: Jake Barnes and Lady Brett Ashley. The story follows the flamboyant Brett and the hapless Jake as they journey from the wild nightlife of 1920s Paris to the brutal bullfighting rings of Spain with a motley group of expatriates. It is an age of moral bankruptcy, spiritual dissolution, unrealized love, and vanishing illusions. First published in 1926, The Sun Also Rises helped to establish Hemingway as one of the greatest writers of the twentieth century.

The title of my book, "Follow in the Tigerman's Footsteps," sub- titled "The Adventurous Life of an Expat," comes from my love of tigers that like me love to roam far and wide. It reads more like an adventure story than a memoir and covers a working life most only dream about. I started to write my memoir, as a way of showing my two daughters and grand children what kind of life I enjoyed. However, the more I wrote; I decided it would make an interesting read for others. As a qualified joiner/shopfitter, I worked on fitting out shops, banks and offices all over England, as well as a few projects in Scotland. As a Sagittarian I have travel in my blood, but never in my wildest dreams did I think I would end up experiencing travel and working in so many different countries. Readers will see that there is more to life than a boring 9-5 job, with the whole world waiting for you to experience life in a country other than your own.

Rebecca Chandler is a serial American expat who is forced to move home to Los Angeles after things go wrong during the COVID pandemic. Rebecca returns to America immediately immersed in "reverse culture shock" and feeling a bit overwhelmed by the challenges that come with "learning how to America, again". After living in Egypt, Kenya and Singapore, Rebecca doesn't feel "entirely American" anymore and is confused by massive grocery stores, driving on the right, losing the metric system, the coffee culture, and other daily challenges..
