[The Shortys Long List 2024 - Poetry] The Earth's Lament is a lyric poem where the Earth speaks about its ancient memories and experiences. Using personification, the Earth describes its rugged landscape and historical events. The poem has vivid imagery and a reflective, melancholic tone, recounting battles and human activities like gold mining.
