60 years after The Force Awakens:

The Force is believed to be hidden and corrupted.
The battle between the light and the dark still goes on though, only more dangerous than the previous duels with the Rebellion and the Empire and so on.
But as the Resistance obtain a prisoner from the First Order, everything which they've done will be destroyed and replaced by something new.
