Stella has been through a traumatic experience. She has been numb and quiet for 7 months and unsure and angry and grieving. She is not sure of her place in the world now that most of her family are gone... Why did she live? She has a twin in the hospital and she herself has state mandated therapy. Stella has lost all hope in life. Everything she dreamed, was now ash on the wind. Her love for art and her future hang in the balance.
Then, Kai Walker shows up to the same support group therapy Stella's in, just when she is at her lowest. She hates his deep green penetrating eyes that seem to know her better than she does. But, for some reason, he, is what gives her the strength to say, screw it, maybe she wants to live. But Stella and Kai's trauma run deep and their demons keep coming back to haunt them. Can they be there for each other while the other falls apart?
This story is about love and loss and heartbreak, as it is about trauma, PTSD and surviving and living with the aftermath of death and sexual abuse.
