"Ow!" A high-pitched voice yelped as Alina bumped into someone. Alina froze, her breath hitched. So much for staying under the radar. "What the hell?!"

The hallway hushed in silence and Alina's face began heating up. Carefully, she lifted her head upward from her hunched position and peeked at the person. She was met with blue waves raging in anger in their eyes and blonde hair, sand, falling over their eyes. Alina froze, her heartbeat skipping a beat.

Tara.

She glared at her in anger, letting out a frustrated groan while her two minions, Melina and Ilona, stared at Alina with wide eyes as if shocked. Alina shook her head, breaking the trance and quickly realizing her mistake.

Tara was going to kill her.

Her eyes widened, frantically thinking of what words to say. "I'm so sorry, Tara!" She began, fear written across her face. This wasn't happening, this shouldn't happen. Alina had promised herself to stay away from drama, especially Tara McMillen- the Queen Bee. She only brought problems and made Alina feel bad about herself.

She stared at her friend, pondering. Had she forgiven Tara? For all her horrific actions? They used to be best friends, before her father died. Sure, Alina had been there to comfort her, but something, she didn't know what, but something changed the day Tara watched her father plummet to his death. It was as if the waters drowned her too, stealing away a part of her sanity- her personality.

When Alina nearly died when she was eight due to the cliffs, Tara completely shut her down. At first, she didn't know why Tara would do such a thing, but now she knew. Alina had been the only person to ever survive those cliffs and Tara blamed Alina for her father's death. "They should've taken you instead of my father!" Tara had spat in a malicious way when they were ten.

Tara growled, her hands balled into fists. Melina eyed Ilona, giving her a worried look. "You bastard! Don't you have eyes?!" Alina was shocked at the outrage, shaking her head. She felt like a knife had been stabbed into her chest, draining her life away slowly and painfully. She was just watching her own foundation crumble, helplessly.

She tried to find her words, but her voice wouldn't cooperate. The memories only flooded back like a tsunami and she watched helplessly as it neared closer to drown her. Her eyes fell on a figure in the distance, their eyes locked on her with mixed emotions, as the rest of their group was busy whispering. Alina perked up at first, the hope returning, but it disappeared when she remembered.

Mabel wasn't her friend anymore.

Her shoulders sunk in sadness, focusing her gaze on a very frustrated Tara who was seeing red.

"I- I h-have e-e-eyes t-t-Tara." She stammered when she opened her mouth for the fifth time, trying so hard to not cry. She pushed back tears because all of the students in the hallway glared at the tension between Tara and her.
