CHAPTER THIRTEEN
The Truth

Azula pushed him away in disgust. She even went as far to wipe her lips. Chan rose his brows confused. "Hey, what the hell? I thought we were hitting it off." He stated, crossing his arms as he rolled his eyes when she wiped her lips. Chan was confused because he genuinely thought she was into him. Which was a mistake because Azula was the biggest lesbian you could meet. "Don't tell me... I knew it. You're into that girl aren't you?" Chan said, narrowing his eyes. He could tell by the way they interacted. He wasn't judging though.

Azula still took offense with a scoff. She flipped her long dark hair over her shoulder, glaring at him with her piercing golden eyes. "Yeah, and so what? Together, she and I will be the strongest couple in the entire world. We will dominate the earth!" Azula declared, showing off her blue flames in the midst. She hoped to scare him enough to where he wouldn't report her affections to anyone. She didn't want to be outed or to out Kira. She didn't want to expose their relationship either due to Sozin's law against the LGBTQ+ community.

Chan laughed awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck. He had to admit, Azula was incredibly scary. Especially right now. "Listen, I don't mind. Most of these teens at the party are gay. In fact, I'm bisexual." He said, hoping to calm her down. "But, uh... I gotta go, okay?" Chan nervously slipped off into the crowd, breathing out. He felt lucky to escape Azula's wrath, hoping he would never have to be in it again. He hated when girls got angry at him sind they tended to scare him.

Azula sighed, walking in, watching as Zuko and Mai fought loudly, ending with them breaking up. Looking around, Kira was no where to be seen. She sighed, finding Ty Lee and Mai before heading out to retrieve her brother. As they approached the beach, they saw Kira walking towards them, hugging herself. She looked incredibly upset as she approached the group. "Azula," she called out to the firebender, "can we talk?" Kira questioned, biting her lip at the curious audience she attracted by accident. Azula looked over with worry on her face, following Kira to a farther spot on the beach.

"Azula, I saw you and Chan. Is there something I did to make you... want him? Like did I push you away. Whatever I did, I'm sorry." Kira said, tearing up as she looked at her girlfriend. Azula felt her heart ache Kira, taking her hands gently. However, she pulled away from Azula, hugging herself as she looked at the beach for a moment. Squeezing her eyes closed, she thought for a moment. "It hurt. It hurt seeing you two kiss. I hated that. I hated feeling that way. I felt my heart shatter and it felt like my world had slipped away. Mainly because... Because you are my world, Azula. I love you."

Azula's eyes widened at the confession she had. Though Kira pulled away earlier, she decided to try again. Taking Kira, hands she pulled Kira close. "Kira, you didn't push me away. What you saw was Chan kissing me. I did not kiss him. Honestly, I'm surprised you didn't see me push him away. In fact, he knows about us. He's bisexual, like you." Azula told Kira who looked at her with her wide blue eyes still full of tears. She was shocked that Azula allowed someone to know about them.

Kira smiled as she bit her lip. Then, cupping Azula's cheeks, she kissed her deeply. "Then... Then I'm sorry for accusing you. It just really looked like something else was going on." Kira said, rubbing the back of her neck. She felt worse, if she was being honest.

Azula shook her head gently, smiling up at her. She loved the way her and Kira's eyes met. "Hey, listen... It's totally okay. I know what it must have looked like. If I saw that with you and Chan, I would have thought the same." Azula admitted, hoping to make Kira feel better. She wanted to be honest with her.
