'IT'S FROM RORY. I FOUND it in my mailbox this morning.' ethan said, inserting the usb stick into his laptop.

benny and rowan had to share a single earbud, because ethan wouldn't unplug the headphones all together, in fear someone would hear. so, they held the single earbud in between both of their ears, watching the video.

'hey guys,' the boy whispered. 'can you believe this? all these books and not a single decent comic.'

as he went on describing how bleak the comic selection was, rowan and benny rolled their eyes, almost simultaneously.

'c'mon, focus buddy, focus.' ethan whispered.

'okay, i think i found what you're looking for,' rory said, moving the camera to show a page from a book. 'an angel's nest shall see the earth. soul for soul, the black army's rebirth, neath a swallowed moon the dead take route, the barren orchard bears the devil's fruit.'

rowan let the words process in her mind for a second, handing benny the earbud. 'ugh! i hate poetry!' benny groaned. 'it never makes any sense! what angel's nest?!'

'benny, it's simple.' rowan started softly as ethan told him to be quiet, tucking her hair behind her ears. 'angel's nest. cubile animus, nest of souls. they dug it up near the angel statue. right?' the boy nodded.

'seed the earth?' benny questioned, looking to rowan.

'it was buried in the ground like a seed.' the girl responded simply.

benny processed the words before turning back to his friends. 'the black army?' he blurted rather loud.

'shhh,' rowan hushed.

'easy, it's reverend black's followers.' ethan tells him.

'wow.' benny replied, in awe it was so simple to them. 'so this is why you two get better marks than me in english, huh?'

'that, and we don't call the teacher 'farthead' to his face.' ethan told his friend.

'point taken.' benny sighed. rowan smiled, laying her head on the taller boy's shoulder. as she closed her eyes, he became very flustered, but tried to hide it by pointing out to ethan, 'there's a second video file on the drive,'

ethan opened the video and it turned out to be the dusk three trailer. 'why is that on there?' benny asked, rather confused because rory had seemingly no reason to send the video.

rowan opened her eyes and was met with dusk. it truly was inescapable. all over the walls at school, all over tv, all over the internet.

ethan glanced up at one of the dusk premiere posters above the lockers. 'wait? what did the poem say about the swallowed moon?'
