FOURTEEN; rowan saves the day!

     'ROWAN, BENNY.' ETHAN CALLED OUT for his friends. 'wake up!'

     benny and rowan both got pillows thrown at their face as a wake up call. 'ow!' benny said, sitting up.

     the two teenagers had slept over at ethan's house. rowan couldn't remember anything from the previous night, it was almost as she blacked out.

     'dude, you've got stuff all over your face!' rowan informed her best friend, pointing to his cheeks, which had tiny little stickers all over them.

     'what the. . . ?' he brought his hand up to his cheeks and peeled some of the stickers off. ethan then noticed benny's nails, 'dude, your nails are red!'

     'yours are pink!' benny shrieked, jumping up off the sleeping bag he was sleeping on. 'i feel so violated.'

     'rowan, they braided your hair!' ethan said, pointing to the girl's head.

     the blonde hair had been transformed into two braids, which she immediately began taking out. 'those cheerleaders must be stopped.' rowan declared, tugging the elastics out of her hair.

     'there's no. . . who knows what they'll paint pink next?!' ethan panicked.

     the three brought themselves over to ethan's desk. 'lots of these old spells channel energy with the five points of the star.'

     'one for each of the elements.' rowan added.

     'wait. stephanie said she needed five cheerleaders.' ethan stopped the two. 'she's using our formation to sap human spirits!'

     'pentagrams are never good.' benny said. 'i hope a reversal spell will be enough to block the flow of energy.'

     'what if it's not?' rowan asked nervously, biting her nails, which the cheerleaders had painted yellow.

     there was a knock on the door. ethan and benny ripped off their wigs and rowan finally got the braids out of her hair. 'uh, come in!'

     'grandma?' benny questioned as eveyln walked in the room. 'what are you doing here?'

     'i promised jane and ella some strength potion. . . but i wanted to give you these.' she pulled out three pom-poms and handed them to the kids.

     'pom-poms?'
