FRIDAY CAME FAST. THE WRESTLING match, as well as rowan's date with eric were upon everyone. rowan had gotten help from sarah and erica with her outfit for the date, and although she looked pretty, she didn't feel like herself in erica's clothes.
'in the spirit of non-competition, i pledge to be a non-partisan referee for tonight's match, so, uh. . . well, may every man win, or, uh. . . at least survive.'
'isn't your friend wrestling tonight?' eric asked the blonde, who nodded, sighing. 'i'll pray for him.'
she laughed, shoving the boy over. 'stop.'
'i'm serious.' he answered, nodding. 'nobody your friend's size makes it past kurt alive.' rowan's face became worried, but eric assured her he would be okay.
after mr. g finished announcing kurt, benny ran out and grabbed the mic from him, 'from a land of fear and nightmares, comes a warrior born to destroy.'
'this couldn't be more embarrassing,' rowan shook her head bashfully.
'he speaks only violence. he knows only hatred. his headlock is a crime against humanity!' benny continued. he had one day of practice, rowan thought to herself. 'behold. . . the ethanatorrrrr!!'
'okay, guys, if we can get you to shake hands here, that'd be nice.' mr. g guided ethan over to kurt, and when they shook hands, rowan swore she could hear ethan's bones cracking.
'do your catchphrase! do it!'
'prepare to be ethanized!' ethan yelled.
kurt pulled an apple out of nowhere, crushed and said his catchprhase, 'you're not gonna like these apples.' as everyone in the crowd laughed, kurt tossed the crushed apple at ethan.
'oh my god, ethan's gonna die.' rowan panicked quietly.
'relax, murder is illegal.' eric told her, wrapping an arm around the girl.
'that doesn't mean people don't still do it!' rowan laughed, starting to forget her worries.
'people can do things against the law?' jasper jokingly gasped.
benny looked up at the two, and filled with jealousy. rowan noticed the boy staring at them and grinned, waving at him. he waved back, faking a smile.
rowan's worries came back when she watched kurt slam and throw ethan all over. 'oh my god.' she gasped, covering her mouth. even when ethan tried to get kurt back, it ended up backfiring and he just hurt himself even more.
