     AS ROWAN FINISHED HELPING HER little sister with her homework, she realized her computer was notifying her that she was getting a call from benny and ethan. 'just give me a sec, bubs.' she told ella as she started to get up from her bed.

      she answered the call, sitting down at her desk. 'what's up? i'm trying to help ella with her homework.' rowan asked, pushing her hair out of her face.

      'are you going over to ethan's?' benny asked, to which rowan remembered she was supposed to go over.

      'yeah, uh, i guess.' she said, looking back to ella, who was adding fractions on her bed. 'ella's not done with her homework though.'

      'she can figure it out on her own.' ethan said, tapping his pencil against his desk.

     'i can't leave her alone, my mom's working a graveyard shift.'

     'bring her over then.' benny told her. rowan bit her lip and thought for a second. 'come on, i'm so bored!'

     rowan smiled, rolling her eyes. 'fine, we'll be over soon.'

     'HEY, SLOW DOWN.' ROWAN SAID, desperately trying to catch up with benny, who was walking in front of her and ella.

     benny turned around to greet the girls. 'hi ella.' the youngest girl waved, clutching onto her sister's hand. 'hey row.' 

     'hey b.' rowan greeted with a smile.

     benny grinned back at his friend happily as they arrived at the morgan residence and knocked on the door. when the door opened, sarah, holding an umbrella like a bat appeared in front of them.

     benny, who didn't seem to notice went on to name what he had brought, 'i've got pop, chips, and the first season of the bloodsucker diaries. who—' the tallest boy locked eyes with sarah, awkwardly and popped his fake vampire fangs in quickly.

     'hi rowan.' sarah greeted, making rowan smile and wave back bashfully.

     'jane!' ella said, running into the living room, after her friend.
