Chapter 10.5~ Video Game Tournament!

Just so you guys know, this chapter is written in third-person POV, and chapter 15 and beyond will be as well.
Also, I have SADLY NEVER PLAYED Super Smash Bros. Brawl or Halo 4. :(

Vlad and Matthew shrugged. "Whatever you want."

Tino, Berwald, Lukas, and Emil nodded in agreement. Mathais, however, was excited about something. "Lets do a video game tournament!"

"A video game tournament? You don't even have oppsoable thumbs"

Mathais grinned, although it looked more like a snarl with his feline teeth. "So what? I can stll beat a girl like you."

"Oh, what that sexism I heard?" Zera asked sarcastically, a sassy grin on her face. "I'm sorry, I'm pretty sure I owned your ass last night on Halo 4."

"So your in?"

"Well, you can't have a tournament with only two people, let only just one. Anyone else want a video game tournament?"

With nods and murmurs of consent from everyone, Zera led the way to the gaming room. There, she turned on the Wii and popped in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. With a grin, she turned to the guys. "Here's how we score this. There are twenty rounds. Every round, the winner switches out with someone else. Winner gets six points, second gets three, third gets two, and last gets one. We'll keep a tally, and no one can play more than five rounds in a row. Make sense?"

When she got nods, she picked up the first-player controller, and tossed the other three to Mathais, Vlad, and Lukas. "Matthew plays next round."

"Why doesn't Matthew play this round?" Lukas grumbled. A sly, secretive smile crept across Zera's face.

"I'm testing a theory. Let the smashing begin."

Twenty rounds later, the scores were final. (OMG, I'm sorry... XD)

Zera: 33

Matthew: 26

Vlad: 30

Lukas: 34

Mathais: 31

Tino: 28

Emil: 27

Berwald: 29

"Wow. Some of those scores are kind of surprising. Good job, guys." Zera turned off the Wii and powered up the X-Box 360. "Halo 4 time. Juggernaut. Four play at a time, ten-minute matches, no X-Box Live. The person who gets the most kills as the Juggernaut total wins. Makes sense?"

"Who plays against who, though?" Tino questioned, still smiling.

Zera smiled as well. "We can do five different combinations; doing them all would take to long. Lukas, Vlad, Mathais, and I, then Berwald, Tino, Emil, and Matthew. Whoever wins the second round plays the three runners-up from the first round. Whoever loses that round plays the three runners-up from the second. The two better players from both the third and the fourth matches play each other. We then total how many kills each person got as the Juggernaut, with the winner of the first round automatically winning, since they would be the best." (I know that that set-up seems confusing, so I put the results of each round in so you guys might understand better... XD)

"Bring it on." Vlad announced, grabbing one of the X-Box controllers and leaning forward in anticipation.

Fifth round: 1- Zera, 2- Berwald, 3- Vladimir, 4- Emil
Total score placement in the Juggernaut: 1- Lukas, 2- Zera, 3- Berwald, 4- Vladimir, 5- Mathais, 6- Emil, 7- Matthew, 8- Tino (SORRY! XD)

"Who knew Norway would be so good at this?" Matthew asked himself quietly, earning a glare from Lukas himself.

"Okay. Now for the final game," Zera announced theatrically. She took a deep breath, and shouted in her best opera voice, "MINECRAFT!!!"

"We've got a second console, so we can system link against each other." Mathais told her.

"YES!" Zera yelled ecstatically. "Lukas, Berwald, Vlad and I on this one. Mathais, set up the other. This is going to be great!"

She popped in the correct disc, then sat on the couch while it loaded the game. Vlad was on her left, wrapping his arms around his abdomen. Zera turned to him, noticing the look in his eyes. "Vlad?" She whispered. He looked up at her. "Do you need to drink again?"

He shook his head rapidly. "No, I'm fine."

Zera could see how his jaw was clenched. "No you're not. Come on." She stood, then grabbed his wrist, pulling him to his feet. She led him to the neighboring bedroom. "I'm not going to let you starve yourself and suffer. I told you that."

She sat down, patting the spot on the mattress next to her. Vlad sat down where she specified, looking slightly guilty. She hugged him, her cheek on his shoulder, as she spoke into his ear. "Let me help you, damn it."

He chuckled a little despite himself. "Alright. I'm sorry." He leaned toward her neck, his breath sending goosebumbs across her skin.

"Don't be." Zera told him, just before his fangs carefully pierced her skin.

He sucked gently, but stopped much sooner than he had the day before. He pulled back from Zera, looking down at her now-frowning face. "Are you sure that's enough? You shouldn't limit yourself too much, you know."

"I'll be fine. Come on, let's go play Minecraft. You sounded really excited about it." He stood up, taking her hand so she would stand as well.

"Alright. If you're sure." Zera agreed reluctantly, letting him lead her back to the game room.

(Use your imaginations for Minecraft, but know that I'm actually pretty darn good at it... ;) XD lol)
