Luke roamed the town, hands shoved in his jean pockets, his mind wandering. There was a heavy burden on his shoulders and he ached to get it off.
Yesterday, he saw Michael. He looked amazing, breathtaking. But he didn't love Luke anymore and that's what hurt the most.
He passed the pizza place, where he and Michael had one of their first and best dates.
FLASHBACK
"You always order pepperoni pizza, Lucas."
"One, don't call me Lucas. Two, do you have a problem with pepperoni pizza?"
Michael scoffed, sitting down across from Luke. They were the only kids their age at the pizza place, the other customers were families. "No! I don't have any problems with pepperoni pizza. It's just that you're a dork and always order the same thing."
"Shut up, Clifford," Luke smirked, eyeing Michael's hawaiian pizza. "You always order that thing. Who even likes pineapple on pizza? That's disgusting."
"You're disgusting."
"Take that back!"
"Absolutely not."
Luke rolled his eyes teasingly and crumbled up his napkin, tossing it at Michael's face. It hit him square in the nose and bounced off, landing on the ground beside them. "Now you have to pick that up." Michael ordered.
As Luke bent down to pick it up, Michael crumbled up one of his own napkins and prepared to hurl it at Luke's face. As soon as he straightened back up in the chair, Michael launched the napkin.
"Bullseye!" He cackled, holding his stomach.
"That hurt," Luke whined, rubbing his eye. "Paper does not feel very nice when it hits you."
"Aw, baby," Michael cooed, scooting his chair over. "Let me see." Luke put his hand down and allowed his boyfriend to touch it lightly. Michael kissed it gently and smiled brightly.
"Good, now it feels better," Luke smiled back. "Just apologize."
"What? That's not fair! I shouldn't have to apologize," Michael exclaimed, but as soon as Luke's face fell into a pout, he sighed reluctantly. "I'm sorry."
END FLASHBACK
Next, Luke passed the yogurt place. It reminded him of the time he, Calum, Ash, and Mikey had a double date.
FLASHBACK
"Can I taste your yogurt, Ashy?" Calum whimpered. "I want to see what strawberry sorbet tastes like."
"Just a little, babe," Ashton nodded, taking his own spoon out.
Michael and Luke rolled their eyes simultaneously as Calum took a spoonful and Ashton's yogurt and ate it. His face crumbled in disgust, clearly, he hadn't liked it. Ashton frowned and let his boyfriend take a sip of his water, too. "Sorry you didn't like it, darling."
"Can I taste your yogurt, Mikey?" Luke mocked, sticking out his bottom lip at the older boy.
"Fuck no!" Michael smirked. "I love my yogurt. In fact, I'm leaving you for this yogurt."
Luke dropped his spoon on the table and crossed his arms over his chest, a stern look on his face. "Excuse me? What did you say, Clifford?"
Michael gulped, becoming both afraid and surprised at Luke's new-found bravery and sass. "I said, of course you can take a bite of my yogurt and that I will never, ever leave you."
