"Alright baby, I hate to do this, but it's getting pretty late, I should go," Michael pouted and as did I. "First day of classes tomorrow."

"It's okay, Mikey. I understand. Good luck tomorrow, call me as soon as you're finished," I paused. "I love you so much."

"I love you too, Lukey."

With that, the video chat disconnected. I smiled sappily, even though he was miles and miles away, we both still found the time to talk. He really cared, didn't he?

I returned back to the living room only to find Ashton and Calum in the midst of a heated makeout session. Chuckling softly, I went back to his laptop and opened Facebook.

Sheesh, I haven't been on here in forever, I thought. However, I had zero notifications and zero friend requests. I'm such a loser.

I logged out and went on YouTube instead, spending about twenty minutes watching pointless videos before I searched the song If It Means A Lot To You by A Day To Remember.

"Hey darling, I hope you're good tonight," I sang quietly. This song reminded a lot of the situation I'm in right now.

And I know you don't feel right when I'm leaving.

Yeah, I want it but no, I don't need it,

Tell me something sweet to get me by.

Michael didn't need to go to university – no, he wanted to. But he wanted to for a wonderful and heartwarming reason, to support our future family. Before he left, he showered me with kisses and sweet nothings, random gifts - cute little things, like flowers or chocolate. He even gave me a promise ring.

If you can wait till I get home,

Then I swear to you, that we can make this last.

That promise ring meant that he would wait for me and I would wait for him. It bonded our love and every time I looked down at it, I could practically feel his arms around me.

He was not there, no, but he would be soon.

Snapping me out of my sentimental Michael thoughts was a loud moan. I furrowed my eyebrows. What were they doing?

I processed it for a second. "Oh," I said aloud, cracking up laughing. "Oh god." I wiped the tears off my face and plugged a pair of earbuds into his computer so I wouldn't have to listen to them scream each other's names.

Now everybody's singing..

I had that song on repeat for however long before Ashton, with sex hair and swollen lips, peeked his head in. I took my earbuds out and smirked at him. "Are you guys enjoying yourselves?"

"Shut up, dickhead," Ashton blushed furiously and rolled his eyes. "We're going to grab some food, wanna come?"

I nodded and followed him out to the main living area, where Calum sat on the couch, also with messed-up hair and red lips. "Hey, Luke."

"That wasn't the name you were moaning a few minutes ago," I snapped, both their faces turning red. I laughed and shook my head. "I'm only kidding, sheesh. Let's go."

"Three waters, please," Calum smiled tightly at the waitress.

"Coming right up," She said and hustled away. I twiddled the straw wrapper in my hands while Ashton and Calum made small talk.

"What did you and Michael talk about on the video call?" Ashton asked, peering over at me with a raised eyebrow.

"Normal stuff," I shrugged. "He has his first day of classes tomorrow so he was telling me some of the classes he's taking."

"Did you guys talk about.. the bridge incident at all?"

"Yeah, we did. I'm not mad at you for telling him, Ash," I confessed. "It's alright. It was better he found out now than later."

Before Ashton could respond, a group of girls entered the café, and among that group of girls was Vanessa. The three of us simultaneously groaned and hung our heads low, hoping she wouldn't notice us.

Ten minutes later, Vanessa hadn't said a word to us. We all prayed she didn't even realize she was here.

"I'm gonna use the bathroom, I'll be right back," Calum said flatly. Ashton nodded, not looking up from his menu.

Time passed, I wasn't sure how many minutes, and Calum hadn't returned. "I'm going to go check on him," Ashton said, clearly worried. I simply made a "mhm" noise.

Suddenly, tearing me from my text messages with Michael, was someone yelling. Someone that sounded a lot like - Ashton. I ran to the hallway where the bathrooms were.

With clenched fists, Ashton stood before Calum, who was on the ground, holding his cheek in pain. Vanessa leaned against the wall, smirking.
