Chapter 20

~Lauren's POV~

After we stretched, Ms. Lewis announced that we'd be playing team handball and we got to pick our teams, everyone shot up and turned to look at Kenzi, Trevor, Kian, and Sam only to realize that some random girl was holding Trevor's hand trying to pull him to her team. Kian and Sam were just circled with girls. Kenzi was being hit on by two boys.

'Dang, no body likes me here I guess.' I thought to myself, I backed up to a wall but was stopped by someone. Oh gosh.

I turn around to a tall boy who looked pretty strong then looked at his face, Jake. I try running but he grabs my arm.

"Woah babe. You're on my team." He chuckled evilly.

"What are you doing here?"

"I've gone to school here for a few weeks now."

"Okay."

I look over at Kenzi who was looking at me until Sam walked over to her when he noticed the two boys were flirting with her. Jake then grabbed my cheeks for me to face him, I was a little frightened. His eyes were ice cold, dark brown. I felt like he was looking into my soul until I looked down. He put a finger under my chin to look at him again.

"Look at me when I am talking to you." I hadn't realized he was talking I was listening to conversations in the background, one caught my ear.

"Let go of me. My girlfriend is in trouble!" I knew it was Trevor and my heart fluttered when I heard him say girlfriend but it was all ruined when a girl voice was spoken.

"You have a girlfriend?"

"Yeah, her." I could feel eyes on me from behind. I guess I was lost in my thoughts until Jake slapped me. I was taken back and told myself I was not going to cry even tho it hurt like hell. Where is the fucking PE coach? Again I heard a conversation from behind me.

"Don't run to that fat slut. You'll love me!" At this point I use all my strength and face my fear, I don't listen to what Jake said I turn around and see half the class staring at me. Kenzi was standing there look pissed as did Trevor, Kian was freaking out and exited the gym.

"Kian Lawley!..." Ms. Lewis froze confused. Sam was by Kenzi I'm not sure what he was doing, I didn't pay him much attention, as everyone was now staring.

Seconds later Kian ran back in with Connor right behind him. Jake chuckled behind me.

"Okay, this bitch is an attention whore." That same girl that was talking to Trevor spoke. Quite a few people laughed at her comment, including Ms. Lewis.

"Emily, shut up and get the fuck off of me." Trevor kinda yelled.

"No cursing on school grounds, that's a write up." Ms. Lewis annoying voice sounded. I looked at Connor who was now even more angry.

"Woah woah woah. So Emily, I'm guessing, can curse but Trevor can't?"

"Yeah, Emily is my daughter."

"Wow! Great reason. But look, this prick can slap my sister and not get written up?"

"When did this happen." I interrupted their conversation.

"When y-you weren't in h-here." When attention is drawn to me I get really nervous and a lump in my throat, in some cases I break down crying. Some call it Anxiety but others call it 'Lauren being an attention whore'.

"Mr. Cooper, is this true?" She questioned him.

"No I'd never hurt my girlfriend." When he said girlfriend I closed my eyes and went to my 'happy place' but it was soon interrupted by small parts of my flashback. (A view chapters before this)
