Chapter 39

~Lauren's POV~

We arrived at the ice cream shop and ordered. I got plain vanilla while Shawn got chocolate chip.

We got our ice cream and sat at a window seat and talked about random stuff. I looked at him and laughed to myself.

"What? Do I have ice cream on my mouth?" He asked.

"No but you do now." I replied while putting my vanilla ice cream all over his mouth and nose.

"Lauren! I can't believe you just did that, you're gonna pay." Shawn started laughing.

"Oh am I now?"

"Yes, I just don't know how yet. Get it off."

I grabbed a napkin and wiped it off of his face.

"I didn't mean like that." I gave him a weird look.

"I was not about to lick that off of you, ya nasty." I said trying not to laugh. That didn't last long because we both starting doubling over in laughter causing people to look at us. We stopped laughing, threw our trash away and left.

On the way home I got an idea and texted Kian.

L- Yo Kiki.

K- Yo Laur.

L- Do you, JC, Taylor, and anyone else want to come to the beach with Shawn and I?

K- I'm down. Let me ask everyone else.

K- They all said yeah

L- Okay we are on our way home so get ready I guess.

"Shawn."

"Yeah?"

"We are going to the beach."

"Okay?" He seemed confused.

We finally got home and everyone was ready, so I guess they were all going, except for Shawn and I. I ran upstairs to get my swimsuit on. Since I didn't feel like digging a different swimsuit out of my drawer I just wore the one I wore yesterday. After putting on a cover up I ran back downstairs to see everyone waiting for me.

"What took you so long?" Ricky asked.

"I thought I didn't take long but oh well, lets go."

The beach isn't that far so we just walked. Everyone was having their own conversations so I just started talking to Taylor and JC. Well more like they were talking and I was walking beside them. I felt left out so I was going to go talk to Kian but then Taylor out his arm around me. I was confused but I got butterflies, I wanted to move but I couldn't.

All of a sudden Kian looks back and starts making a big deal.

"OH MY GOSH LOOK GUYS WHAT IS THIS!?" He yelled like a girl. I walked away from Taylor feeling awkward because everyone was looking at us, my cheeks were burning up.

Then Ricky's dumbass has to point that out.

"OMG SHES BLUSHING!"

They were acting like fan girls it was weird. Then I look at Shawn and he looked upset. Crap, I hate when Shawn is sad and this time it's because of me. After that we all starting walking again but I stayed by myself.

We got to the beach and I wasn't feeling it anymore because I felt really bad do I just sat down. I was on my phone for a good while before someone sat by me. I looked up to see Shawn looking down at me.

"Hey, sorry about earlier." I said.

"It's okay but why didn't you tell me you liked him?"

"Because I didn't know, that sounds really dumb but the thing is-" Shawn cut me off.

"Look I actually like you but I know you like Taylor so that doesn't really matter."

"As I was saying I get butterflies around both of you. I don't know why but to just happens."

"Oh." That's all he could say. It started to get awkward so I got up and went into the water where everyone else was.

As I was making my way to most of the group was someone jumped on my back and pulled me underwater. When I got back up I saw Connor standing up laughing right beside me. As he was laughing I jumped on his back and made him carry me the rest of the way.

I got off his back and realized I couldn't touch the bottom so I began to go under, I started reaching out for anything but I don't think anyone saw me because I didn't have enough time to make noise before I went under. Finally someone got a strong grip around my stomach and pulled me up. I didn't see who it was but I just hugged them because I didn't want to go back under and my eyes were burning a little.

I heard everyone talking around me but my eyes still hurt but I finally opened them and looked at Shawn right in eyes. I was happy that he saved me so I hugged him again. Yeah I don't think it will be awkward between us, thankfully.

He brought me back to where I could reach the bottom and we stayed there and played with a mini football. After a while everyone came back over and played with us.

A few hours passed and we decided to go home and get some food. It was only 2 in the after noon so Connor suggested we have a movie day at home, we selected about five movies that would last until at least until 11 o'clock.

We ate and got comfortable everyone laying next to someone else in a line, it was kind of funny I was in between Taylor and Sam. After every movie we all moved around so everyone ended up scattered around when we fell asleep.

This chapter isn't as long as my 2 most recent but it's around 1000 words (the others were 1600-1900) but yeah.

This story almost has 4k reads! I'm really happy about that.

One of my friends thinks Lauren and Taylor should get together but someone commented Shawn. I need 1 more comment from someone different to decide and that's probably who it will be.

I'll update again sometime soon.
