"I'm bored," I whine as I plop down next to Cat. It was Saturday night and I had finally finished all my charms homework so I decided to head down to the common room for a bit.

"Can we watch a movie?" she asks.

"Cat, there's no electronics here, that muggle stuff is only at home."

"Fine, we can read?" Cat swings her legs onto my lap.

"Okay sure, which book?" Cat quickly runs to her dorm, probably to pick out her book. About five minutes later, she returns and throws the book into my arms.

"Lord of the Flies?" I raise my eyebrows at my sister.

"I like Piggy," she states. After about twenty minutes of reading, it reminded me of how Margret would sit in the living room and read with us whenever Mom made us get off the TV.

"What do you think Margret's doing tonight?" I ask Cat.

"Weed."

"Cat, why would you say that?" I push her legs off my lap.

"It's how New York people say fun," she explains. "Like, 'Hey wanna have some weed?'" I scoff at her remark.

"It's weird not having her here, huh?"

"It's weird not having Jace here either, I miss his Jack impression." I glance down at the page we were on.

I ought to be chief...because I'm chapter chorister and head boy. I can sing C sharp.

"You know, Lexi Jade," I look back up at Cat. "If you had a boyfriend... then maybe you wouldn't have to go to the library at all because he would pick up all our books for us!"

I sigh, "If that's what it takes then I think you're stuck with me."

"I dunno," Cat says with a playful tone. "What about that guy you almost killed the other day?" Cat pokes my arm, which I swat away.

"He's dating Tiff."

"So? It's not just that..." I shift my position to lie down so I can look at Cat. "Don't you find it kinda... depressing that it's a Saturday night, and you're stuck in the common room reading with your little sister?"

"No," I say casually. "I love reading and I love hanging out with you." I kick her softly. She gives a small laugh.

"Okay, I'm not telling you this to make you feel bad but, Lexi Jade, I'm eleven and I canceled plans to be here. And well, you're sixteen, and I don't think you had anything else going on, am I right?" I simply blink at Cat's response. Did she really just-

"That is way harsh, Cat" I looked up at my sister.

"The truth hurts, Lexi Jade." Cat moves on to the next chapter and reads for a few more minutes until I find myself slowly falling asleep.

*Cat's POV*

Lexi Jade is sixteen, and has never had a boyfriend before, yet she's obsessed with love. She deserves a chance at love. Her only problem is that she's too scared to try. Lexi Jade thinks I'm daft, but I know about her letters. I was even able to sneak a peek at 'Dean from Yule Ball's' when she was in the shower once. I mean, it wouldn't hurt to send one of them out right? Ugh, but what are the chances that that one person would respond? Five chances at a boyfriend are better than one...

I waved my hand in front of Lexi Jade's face to double check she was asleep. Once I saw she was still, I snuck into her dorm, past her sleeping roommates, and into her trunk. I spot her red velvet box at the very bottom, so predictable Lexi Jade. First stop this morning, the owlery.
