Instead of calling Yaman like Lamiya would have usually done in a situation like that, she called Wais who knew something was wrong and picked her up. She told him what happened and he was furious. He almost went up to beat Dan but Lamiya begged him not to. She just wanted to go home.
The ride home was silent, Wais didn't tell her what to do, no suggestions or venting in anger. He just remained silent and once he had dropped her off, he said he needed to leave. Lamiya didn't ask him where he was going.
She passed the time by sulking in her roon, thinking about what happened previously over and over. She didn't cry because she wasn't a crier and now that the anger and hurt had somehwat passed, she thought about what actually happened.
She had refused to check her phone for any messages and calls because she was still wallowing in self pity.
Maybe Beatrice was right, maybe it really wasn't what it looked like. She had trusted Dan and she knew he wouldn't have done that to her, he couldn't go out and sleep with someone else. She could have expected that from him in the start of their relationship but not anymore.
There were so many things he changed in himself because she didn't feel comfortable. He was not the same Dan anymore. The exact scene replayed over and over in her mind, she just couldn't get that picture out of her head where he was with another woman. Maybe he was very drunk.
Mia knew that wasn't something she should look over, he promised her he had stopped touching alcohol and if he was drunk then it was still all his fault. Second of all, even if he was drunk, he should know better than to sleep with someone else.
Being drunk wasn't an excuse.
And his behaviour for past few days. She sighed, closing her eyes and plopping down on bed. She wished it was just a bad dream and nothing of that sort really happened but then it would be too good to be true.
During dinner, Mia sulked, pushing around food in her plate. Her parents had to attend some Christmas party so that left Mia alone with Yaman and Sami whom she had seen just a few minutes ago.
"Are you alright?" She looked up at Yaman and shrugged, picking up mint leaves from her rice. She watched Sami playing with his food too. His nanny couldn't come today and Lamiya felt bad that she didn't help Yaman with him all day. It was obvious that he was struggling.
"Something happened?" Mia looked at him and thought about laying down the truth in front of him. She swallowed and nodded.
"Dan happened." She said monotonously
"What about him?" Mia sighed.
"He had been acting weird for a few days now so I went to check up on him but..." her lower lip wobbled so she bit it. "He was with another woman." Mia mumbled, looking up at Yaman when she heard the spoon clacking on his plate.
"Come again?" He looked to be in shock. She shrugged again, feeling so drained of energy. The back of her head hurt as well.
"You heard me right. And to top it all, he was drunk." Yaman leaned back in his chair, stopped eating food and thought about it.
"Tell me everything." Mia sighed, looking at Sami who was babbling and blowing raspberries of his food. After that Mia went on a rant, she started telling him everything, all the details and what she saw and how she dealt with everything.
"Motherfucker." Her eyes widened at Yaman who never cursed, he looked mad and even Sami remained quiet, staring at his father with his huge eyes, blinking occasionally.
"I'll take Sami and put him to sleep. You go and do whatever you need to." Mia said in a sullen mood, picking up Sami from his chair.
"You don't -"
