Next day couldn't come fast enough. Lamiya didn't sleep a wink and tried not to stare at Dan when he slept peacefully after dinner. He'd had dinner quietly, not that he wanted to have it alone but Lamiya had avoided any sort of confrontation with him or even talking to him. She knew he wanted to talk about what happened between them and he didn't look like normal Dan, something was changed in his attitude and Lamiya was not ready to accept that change. So she excused herself, telling him she needed to make a few phone calls and also clear the hospital's bill and he didn't protest. Oh he wanted to protest but she didn't give him a chance to.
She had bolted out of the room. She wasn't lying when she said she wanted to make a few phone calls. She had called his dad, telling him about the entire thing. He had wanted to come to the hospital as soon as possible but Lamiya had assured him that Dan was alright and just needed to spend his night in hospital as per doctor's orders. She had also told him what she thought it was and who she thought it was. Lamiya just knew that one of Dan's friends wasn't his real friend.
Dan's father has instructed her to leave the apartment and never go back. He told him to go to his house which was located on a private beach. Lamiya had refused, knowing that it was an hour drive back to the city and she and Dan both needed to go to office every day. But then Zaid had told her that her own father suggested the same thing and of course, how could Lamiya refuse her own father?
Now she had to tell Dan that they were going somewhere and she couldn't do that without telling the entire situation to him. On the other hand, she had decided something. She wasn't going to sit down quietly while they hurt her family and loved ones. She had to tell them that even if she died, there were ways to destroy them. At least that would stop them from coming after Dan or even using his clothing line.
Walking inside the room, she saw Dan ready to go out so she nodded at him and went back to reception to check out. Zaid had told her that Wais would be dropping off her car outside hospital so they could directly leave, their things would be delivered later on.
"Do we have car?" Dan asked as they walked out of the hospital gates. Not having her phone with her, she felt useless because she had to make so many calls and even Dan didn't have his phone with him.
"Yeah. It's in the parking." She turned towards him, "you feel alright now?" She looked at his face which looked normal, no change of color, no dark circles and even doctor had rechecked and assured her that he was perfectly fine now.
"Yeah, yeah I feel fine. So you came in your own car?" Upon hearing that, flashes of last night came in her mind when she had grabbed his hand in panic and the dread she had felt. Feeling uncomfortable by her own thoughts she cleared her throat and shrugged.
"No, I was in ambulance. I had Wais drop it off."
"You don't have phone and Wais doesn't talk to you." Looking at him, she sighed in annoyance.
"Will you stop with the interrogation already? The main thing is that the car's here." She snapped, turning away to locate the car. She heard him sigh.
"Fine no need to be so grouchy." He grumbled. "It's not like I set the house on fire."
"Oh it was damn close. Don't even go there Dan I am still angry at you. How could you have such irresponsible friends?" She scoffed, spotting the red car and walking towards it.
"Well I don't do background check on people before making friends with them! And it wasn't a damn party Mia we had a discussion about certain things-"
"Why couldn't you do it at office!"
"Because it's my house and I can do whatever damn I please. Why are you making a big deal out of it?" He threw his hands in the air.
"Well, some of your 'friends' left the gas open. You were almost dead!"
