Wais didn't wait to talk further, he just asked where he was supposed to stay and left when Lamiya showed him the room. She realized that he was angry with her and whole lot of other things but shit happened and he needed to get over throwing tantrums at everything he didn't like.
With heavy sighs and the impatient clenching of his jaw, Lamiya could tell that Dan didn't want to retire to his room but was thinking that she didn't want to talk to him either. And it wasn't the case, she actually wanted to make sure that he was okay after all the side of his lip and lower jaw was swelling as the time passed on. She stopped in front of him, looking at the dried blood at the corner of his mouth.
"Are you okay?" She asked, pretty basic but that is what she wanted to know and make sure that he actually felt fine. Dan nodded and turned to leave. "Wait, are you mad at me too?" She incredulously looked at him. Dan's fists clenched but he turned over his shoulder and glared at her.
"If you can't see, I have a busted lip so I need to clean it." He pointed his finger at his lip and then once again turned around to walk away. Silently, Lamiya followed him up to his room and even though he knew that she was following him, it pleased her that he didn't object.
She watched him clean the blood on his lip, leaning against the door frame of his bathroom and winced every time she saw his jaw turning a little more blue.
"Are you going to stand there and watch me all night?" He still tended to his cut, looking at the reflection of his self in the mirror.
"Are you going to be standing there all night?" She sassed. Dan rolled his eyes. "What are you thinking?" He looked troubled, his eyebrows flinched constantly and he frowned occasionally. He was thinking about what happened but she wanted to know what was going on in his mind.
Throwing the tissues in the trashcan, he walked out in to his bedroom making Lamiya step back as well. "What do you think? Pretty dumb!" She caught the tick in his jaw. He was angry. "The bastard worked for me for years and we had instances where I even considered him my friend." He huffed through his nose, throwing the shirt on the bed with which he was fumbling.
"If Wais didn't come, we wouldn't have known." Lamiya confessed in a whisper. He turned towards her, scowling.
"Perhaps we could have known if you stopped keeping so many secrets." Giving her an uninterested look, "you're giving me a headache." He said.
"Look Zaidan-"
"No! I think I am in this mess because of you! Your brother dealt with similar situation, that's my guess and with same people. You have the audacity to still hide things from me. That's why Wais hated you and-" he panted, anger making him breathe heavily, "I can't say I blame him." When he looked at her, she saw the disappointment, anger and even disgust for herself in his eyes which made her almost flinch in repulsion.
"Zaidan I..." Lamiya took a deep breath and looked him square in the eyes, "I am sorry alright. At first I didn't think it was important to tell the part which didn't involve you but now I do know it's importance because your life maybe in danger." He opened his mouth to snap at her but she raised her voice to dominate his, "Wais was angry that's why I gave him time to cool down so he could listen to me with a clean mind." She sat on the edge of his bed and loosened the scarf from her neck before throwing it by her side. She felt like it would suffocate her.
"It was six years ago Zaidan and I didn't know it would haunt my family forever, I didn't want to relive it by telling you." She sighed and looked at him. Lamiya patted the space besides her because she didn't want him to keep standing. She was very hungry because she didn't even have her lunch but food could wait. "The people, they call themselves Tufan," she faced him, "meaning storm or flood or something similar or closer to disaster-"
