In the morning, as Lamiya had plans with Anwar and Jelena she didn't wait for Dan to wake up because she was embarrassed about what happened last night. She did that sometimes, that is doing things without thinking. And she didn't want to give Dan any wrong idea about her having feelings about him. His ego was already very big.
After getting ready, she left without even telling Dan for she knew he wouldn't bother wherever she was going. Anwar had sent her a text message asking where she was and she was glad that she was finding friends in Dan's siblings. She wasn't sure about Jelena because Lamiya had never met the woman and Dan wasn't very close to his sister either. Jelena just seemed cold, Lamiya had just seen her one of the social functions she attended with Dan three years ago. The woman hadn't even come to say hi to her brother and just talked to her friends. She was a supermodel and not very approachable either.
Lamiya didn't know why Anwar insisted she met his sister because obviously the woman didn't want to meet her and Lamiya wasn't looking forward to meeting her either. But she didn't have a choice, she didn't want to sound rude and she was hanging out with Anwar after so long so she didn't want any problems.
They had decided to meet at a fancy restaurant to avoid any kind of disturbance as Jelena was coming and she didn't want to meet at any casual place because of getting photographed or whatnot. Lamiya didn't have any problem so she agreed. And she was the first one to reach the place . She sat down in one of the tables that was reserved by Anwar's name and decided to not order anything even though she was quite hungry. She waited for like ten minutes when Anwar came in and as soon as he spotted her, he smiled. Lamiya smiled back, excited to catch up with him but her smile became a little less excited when she saw a woman with long silky black hair, tan skin and brown eyes similar to Dan's, walking just a step behind him. She wore a short, tight plum colored dress with no sleeves. Her legs were long and tanned as well and the straps of her high heels reached up to her calves. Lamiya was stunned to see her in person. She was just so beautiful and she could see a few men staring at her subtly when she passed them.
"Hello. Sorry we're late." Anwar took a seat, throwing a smile at Mia.
"It's fine, I haven't been waiting long." She shrugged and turned towards the woman who had a small smile on her face but Lamiya could tell that it was forced.
"Hello. You must be Jelena, I've heard so much about you." Lamiya smiled, putting out her hand for handshake. Jelena looked at her hand and then smiled with tight lips, shaking her hand.
"Nice to meet you but I'm sure Dan doesn't talk about me." Lamiya furrowed her brows.
"Yeah you're right I haven't heard about you from him, but other people. My brother had a crush on you in past." She chuckled, "besides Dan doesn't talk about much at all." Lamiya shrugged, leaning back.
"Oh? You have a brother?" Jelena frowned and Lamiya could tell that the girl really didn't know and nor did she had any interest in knowing.
"Yeah we don't know each other much."
"Yes, well, given the circumstances..." she trailed off calling the waiter afterwards. Lamiya frowned but dismissed it. She wasn't expecting to be best friends with her so it was a surprise that she was even being civil with her.
"What she means is that, yours and Dan's marriage was not the most normal one." Anwar smiled while Jelena placed her order. "I am sure you would've seen a much different side of Dan if you both met in other circumstances." Anwar finished off. He told his order to the waiter as Jelena continued,
"I don't know why you both are still together. I mean, it makes me shudder just thinking about living with someone I don't love." She grimaced. Lamiya frowned but kept her words to herself.
