The imps were kind of problematic. Every so often they'd catch up to us and jump onto the car. That was usually when I got the strange panicky feeling. One was on my door clawing at the window to get in so naturally I rolled down the window and punched it off the car. Anthony swerved the car hitting a few that were in the road.
We were getting close to the island. I could see the green bridge up ahead and I paused for a moment. The place was breathtaking. Mountains rose up from the water covered in green leafy trees and the refreshing smell of the sea filled the air. I was shocked back to the present when venom shot through the window and hit my arm.
I stared at it for a moment but I didn't feel anything. That was weird, I wiped off the green substance and threw the imp off the car. Some of them took human form and ran down the road; these ones looked different than the one that was at the visitors' centre.
They looked exactly like humans. The only thing that set them apart was the occasional red flash in their eyes. They looked just like the armed men in my musical hallucination.
We crossed over the causeway into Cape Breton and I felt a click. We were getting close! I rolled down the window to get a better shot at any that were approaching. Zoe sent out waves of emotions to the imps slowing them down. She was drawing power from our emotions and ours were sure running high.
The road twisted and we managed to loose some of them, Jason started saying an incantation under his breath. I could feel the magic thrumming in the air. His eyes glowed and a soft whirring noise shot out of the car.
He pulled himself back in. "That'll keep 'em busy for a while." Jason said. "What did you do?" I asked; he grinned. "Oh just a spell that makes them think we've stopped and we're close by." I highfived him "That's serious power dude." He shrugged and rolled up the window.
The breeze was a bit colder here but it was refreshing. I looked eagerly out the window at the stunning view of cliffs and water. I saw something flash in the reflection of the glass. I blinked and it disappeared, I returned my gaze to the sloping hills and winding roads and then I saw it again. It was the girl reflected in the window.
"Caleb.." she breathed. "We're almost there we're coming to help you." I said; she smiled. "I know you're near but you need to hurry up there's no-" she faded out and then back in wincing. "Time, please hurry I need help, we need you." I pressed my hand up to the glass.
"Are you alright?" I asked, feeling very concerned. She shook her head. "No, I'm hurt and they're coming I can feel their prescence getting closer; you have to get here before they do, I can't fight them off again. follow your gut instict and you'll find me." Her voice was getting more and more quiet.
"Your time is running out." She whispered and faded away. I pulled away from the window casually and Jason was staring at me open mouthed. "uh-" Zoe began. "Why were you talking to the window?" Anthony finished. I couldn't remember the answer to the question.
My memory was full of holes again. So I smiled slyly. "Oh no reason."

We crossed over a large bridge and were astounded by the view. A massive river stretched beneath us onto the horizon and a small lighthouse stood watch on the shore. Suddenly i felt a strange sense of direction inside me, like a thread connecting me to something.
"Anthony we need to keep going straight." i said leaning into the front. He grinned and pressed down the gas. "Aye aye captain." our spirits were light with a feeling of accomplishment. We were going to make it!
We started see signs of civilization and my body told us exactly the way to go. We turned down a long twisty road with colorful houses spotting the landscape. And the lightheaded feeling set in, I was losing my grip, I could see myself getting less and less visible.
Confusion rammed itself into my brain and I was having a hard time peicing together my thoughts. We stopped at an intersection. "Where now?" Anthony asked. "L...eft" I said concentrating hard on my words.
My legs sunk into the seat and I stared at them absently, knowing I needed to do something about them but not making the connection to what I needed to do. "Caleb?" Jason said looking concerned. I looked up at him questioningly. "my....legs." I said pointing to my legs. "Oh god Caleb its happening again isn't it?"
Zoe said. I couldn't understand what she was saying. "I can hardly see him." Zoe said Jason looked at me and offered me his hand. "Even to me he looks faded." He said.
I tried taking his hand so he could help me out of the seat but it passed right through. I shuddered at the gross feeling. The grossness shocked me back to myself. I popped right out of the seat the moment my body came back to me. I sighed.
"What happened?" Jason asked. I shrugged. "It's been happening a lot lately." He frowned but didn't say anything. I could tell he was worried. Suddenly the feeling of connection felt very strong. We were near cliffs on the ocean. "Anthony stop!" I yelled.
he slammed on the brakes and looked back at me. "What?" "We're here."
